DEWALT Headlamp for Jobsite, 200 Lumen (DWHT81424), Yellow

I usually keep going after dark doing outdoors work, or in cases when I have to run cable, work under a sink or do electrical work when I have the circuit breakers off.This light is very bright and lasts a long time with 1xAA battery. I use it at night to walk my dogs, blow leaves or snow, or find stuff in my shed which has no power feed. I bought it because an electrician friend owned one, which was given to him by Amazon as a gift when his company did wiring for a large online retailer's warehouses here in Virginia.The light feels very comfortable on my head, it doesn't come lose, has a good size and good quality on/off switch and the battery is easy to replace with good quality parts in the battery compartment, usually not the case with this type of tool.Very good quality product unlike other lights like these which I bought at the big blue box store and were painfully difficult to turn of and one, and had very poor quality battery inserts.I didn't get mine free, but it was worth every penny, great quality product so thanks Dewalt. This is one of those products which I will buy an extra replacement one in case they discontinue it, like some companies do with excellent products I've purchased in the past.

Best head lamp that I have ever used for work! Although this headlamp is somewhat big and heavy, it stays in place on my head without any problem at all. It is by far the best headlamp that I have ever used as far as light output and battery life.I would not recommend this head lamp for things like spelunking or other fast paced activities because it is somewhat bulky and lacks a strap across the top of the head to hold it place while doing thes kinds of activities.This headlamp is ideal for people who work professionally like plumbers, electricians or mechanics. I work on lift trucks and often times I am working in dark locations and this beats the heck out of trying to hold a work light in place while I am inspecting or repairing things.I plan to purchase a couple more of these for back-ups, as I am sure that sooner or later I will lose or smash the one I have.

This light is bright, easy to use and it comes with batteries included. I haven't used it with a helmet, so for those of you wondering whether it can be used without a hat/helmet, I'm happy to report that it can. I've only used it on my bare forehead and have not had a single issue regarding comfort.For its price, you can't get better. Nice shatter resistant housing, easy to turn on/off with a single push of the button which is located on the side of the housing, which happens to swivel as well, so you don't have to worry about neck strain. The strap is well made, comfortable and easy to adjust. You won't regret your purchase.

I like this light. I have an appreciation for things that just work like they are supposed to. It is designed for work and mounting on a hardhat, and it fits that bill well. There aren't any frills on this light. It has one power button and a twist dial for 2 settings, low and high, which is good to me as I don't like hitting the power button to cycle through all the lights on cheaper variants. It uses AAA batteries, which is good cause they are readily available. That said, this light is noticeable when you put it on your hardhat. There is some heft to it.This light is best for industrial workers who want a reliable, solid beam with ease of use.

For the first 6-7 months, I didn't like this light. It doesn't have a wide light spectrum, so I'd use a different light (LED). After using several other (LED) lights, I seem to always go back to this DeWalt. The fact is, this light is rugged(but heavy) and well built. I've now used this light for about 2years now, doing commercial construction demolition, usually at night on the 3rd shift. Even though the light spectrum is smaller than other lights, this light is more direct. It doesn't make big reflections off of shiny objects because of how direct the light spectrum is. I've found that this is my favorite light for my hard hat. I only get about 6-7 hours of useable light out of it, so I bought some rechargeable batteries and charge them everyday (I swap the newly charged, I have 4 batteries). Now that I'm used to the type of light this eminates, I've found it harder to see with any other headlamp. The beam is direct, bright and clear. Some other lamps are brighter, wider and less expensive. But I have found that their lights are not as direct, cause more reflections and break easier.I love this light and highly recommend this light to anyone who is getting dirty and bumped around, while using a headlamp. I'd buy this product again even if a competitor said they'd give me 2 free ones to buy theirs. That's how much I like this light. I have no need to buy another one, because the one I purchased is a quality product. I might buy another one just to make sure I have an extra, in case DeWalt discontinues this product.

I love this headlamp for it's excellent spot beam. I use a headlamp outside a lot and want a solid beam that illuminates 50 to 100 feet and this one delivers. I usually use it with a hat, so the band is ideal - it stays in place. Wearing it bare-headed is iffy, because the elastic really is designed to also use with a hardhat. But loosened all the way, the strap is OK to use without a hat.I actually was pretty happy with it before I discovered there was a high setting! On high, it's terrific for distance. On low, it works well for closer work, such as working under a vehicle or under the hood. In either mode, it's definitely a spot beam - there are better options for more of a flood light or for very close work.I've had various headlamps since about 2004 and this one is my favorite. They all have their uses and I have a preference for each different task I do, but this one is the king of the outdoor use.
