not happy
Big George forman GR80 Rotisserie was dlivered in a good time frame but it was all greesy and in bad shape. The rotisserie moter did not turn on the unit . so I took my old George that stoped working over many years of use and I swaped out the rotisserie part on them then I had to clean the greese and grime out of the one I that orderd this took me about 2 hours to clean . I was very unhappy about how it looked and worked .

Simply 5 stars
Update 2022:I still have this awesome rotisserie! It is an heirloom. I will pass it over to my most favorite child. :)This machine still cooks some of the best meals. I bring it out from time to time for nostalgia stakes. Ah, memory lane. The best thing you could buy for your kitchen. Forget about the over advertised ronco rotesserie. I had both and the Foreman is the best outright. Plus the Foreman cost half of the ronco. Go figure!Just make sure you have some space as this thing is huge. Well, this is what is required for being able to cook up to a 16 pounds turkey. There is no magic in that. You need a big machine to cook big things. This thing does it all: bakes, broils, and roasts.

Very Complicated to Use
The product is very difficult to use. There are too many gadgets to mess around with. Trying to figure out how the temperature system works is ridiculous. The rotisserie bar and brackets rusted after only two uses. I gave it 2 stars because once you figure out how to use it, the food really tastes good.

Great but faulty
Rotisserie worked great for two chickens (trial runs) and then on Christmas Eve, with a 12lb turkey slowly turning, browning and dripping and just starting to smell great, guests arriving at the door - there was a bang, a flame, and the motor blew up! We assume that faulty wiring was the cause and are giving the Big George another try; we really liked the slow roasted tender taste (of the trial chickens) and hope that when we get the new one, it will not disappoint us. Oh, that half roasted turkey ended up in the oven fighting for space with all kinds of other food and was, well, just another turkey!

Great end product but needs some care before starting.
After reading all the positive and negative comments here, I decided to purchase the product. Our first use was with Cornish Hens. The end result was fantastic...but I would have been frustrated had I not read some of the earlier reviews. I agree that the tempurature "dots" is very difficult to read. I had to use a magnifing glass to be sure I did it right. The manual is really worthless. I would suggest always using the top and bottom elements when roasting. However, the manual says for Cornish Hens up to 25 minutes to be done. Try an hour and a half. To be sure in very very fine print it says to follow the instructions with the poultry. I did that and I was not dissappointed in the end product. Some of the reviews mentioned a video. My package did not come with any. I wish it did. The manual is very poor and cannot be relied on for times. I suggest using a meat thermomter. Save your money on the barbeque book too. It is not a companion piece or a help with the rotiserie. But I still like the end product this product produces. Just have to use your own experience and the advise on the other reviews. Clean up was easy when you use foil and water. No smoke. It is still better than the competitor on TV and better made. It is a value and I would recommend it with all the qualifications I and everyone else has mentioned. End product is juicy and tender. Read the manual carefully...even the fine print. But do not rely on the times and use both top and bottom elements when roasting.Since writing this review, we have done turkeys, lamb, pork and chicken. there is nothing like the flavor and the clean-up. Also I mentioned that I did not get a video with my package. I contacted Salton and asked if I could purchase one. They sent it to me free of charge. A great value.

Don't buy one.
The unit does not heat up and cook as well or as fast as my ronnco. I've used it enough not to like it.

TAKES UP A LITTLE COUNTER SPACE, BUT WELL WORTH CLEARING A S
I just purchased this a week ago to go along with my New Year's resolution to start eating healthier and lose some weight, and I can't believe that eating healthy can taste so good! I love the food that comes out of it, and I really love the clean-up after the food is cooked. No messy pans, the drip tray cleans right up. Between the rotisserie and the George Forman grill I also purchased, I haven't used a frying pan or my oven since they were delivered. Just one complaint, I didn't recieve any instructions with the unit, or the oven mitts that are supposed to come with it. I contacted the manufacturer by e-mail, and still haven't gotten a reply. I would love to have some instructions and a recipe book.

NOT SAFE !
I purchased this rotisserie and thought it would last a while . I was WRONG ! I owned it for abt 6 months and used it approx 10 times doing Chicken and pork on , and it stayed plugged in but NOT on all the time . It started malfunctioning and smoke coming from the motor area . If we had not been home this would have caught our home on fire . NEVER GO AWAY AND LEAVE THIS ROTISSERIE PLUGGED INTO WALL OUTLET (Don't have to be on for it to malfunction ) . I have contacted the manufacture on this and have not had a reply yet . I saw above where there was some issues with it .
