It's always a good idea to alternate probiotics because they can lose effectiveness with repeated usage. You can't go wrong with products from RenewLife, as they take their formulations seriously and I've used their products many times in the past. However, for prostate health I had been taking Garden of Life Probiotics Prostate+ and to be honest I fully expected that one to be a better formula than this - but surprise, the RenewLife one is very comparable and has more probiotics and more diverse strains per serving. There is guaranteed potency through expiration date, which is a great thing. No refrigeration needed, even better. The prebiotic fiber added per capsule is to help feed good bacteria in the gut. What I find odd when taking this is that there is no gas or bloating afterwards. Usually I get that when taking a probiotic. That is not a bad thing, but I do hope it is still working :). The benefits I have noticed so far is that I seem to be getting less inflammation and infection in the urinary tract / prostate area. If I end up having more to add, I'll update this review.

These stomach acid-resistant capsules help more of these probiotic strains actually reach your gut microbiome so they can actually work. It has 65 billion probiotic and postbiotic CFUs, with 31 different strains - and I see all the strains that I have been told to look for in a probiotic in this one, and then some. Also contains 4 different forms of 100mg of organic prebiotic fiber - more good diversity here too. This Ultimate Flora probiotic covers all the bases - acid resistant, right strains at right quantity in a diverse mix (diversity is good for the gut). Even the packaging is excellent: easy to read label on box and bottle, this is in a glass bottle with a simple screw on metal lid, and has a secure, tamperproof, but easy to remove safety seal over the bottle. No unneeded extra plastic wrapping - the safety seal over the bottle itself is the only thing that is needed. I find it so irritating when manufacturers wrap hard-to-remove plastic all over the bottle for no apparent reason. And so many supplements come in plastic bottles, which I hate, as I am very aware of microplastics, etc. and work hard to minimize the amount of plastic I touch each day. So, I reuse my glass supplement bottles and dump my plastic bottle supplements into the old glass bottle and stick a homemade label on it. For those of you who also like to reuse your glass bottles like I do, you know that many of the labels can be excruciating to get off of the bottles, especially the label adhesive. Bonus - not this label! Although it firmly adheres to the bottle, if you lift up a corner, you will find that this peels off super cleanly and easily. The brand of probiotic that I was getting for my father and for me was high quality, but substantially fewer CFUs than this one, and comes in a thick plastic bottle which I hate. Very impressed with this ultimate flora product - I'm going to be switching both of us to this one. Highly recommend! First, as with supplements in general, it's a really good idea to consult your health care provider before taking. For this product, this is EXTRA important if you have a cardiac condition or any condition that makes you more susceptible to infection. There are conditions for which probiotics are contraindicated, and they can interact with some cardiac medications. That said, these seem good. (Even though they are marketed to men, there is nothing about these that should scare women away, IMO. There just aren't "extra" ingredients specifically for women.) They are a little larger than an acetaminophen capsule or caplet, and easy to swallow. My camera makes these look a bit darker than they are in person. The actual color of the capsule contents are more of a lighter off-white color than appears in the pic. There are two key results that I consistently notice when taking probiotics... better digestion in general, and smaller pores/less acne on my face. In particular, I am prone to tiny blackheads and whiteheads, I find they are much reduced when taking probiotics. This product passed the test, so I feel completely confident that the bacteria are alive and effective. This product says you don't have to refrigerate, but I do anyway. As for value... these are pretty pricey. The CFU count is high, so that's a factor, but still. At a current price of over $1 per dose, it's a lot. And a weird aside... the packaging on this is enormous compared to what it needs. You could easily fit 5 or 6 times the count of pills in the bottle they come in, but there's just a tiny pile in the bottom and a lot of empty space. It's not the end of the world, but at this price point, a higher count and fuller bottle would inspire a little bit of customer goodwill.
