My daughter loves this book
My daughter loves this book! We got it from the library first, but after it became clear that she wanted to read it every day, I went ahead and just purchased it so I don’t have to constantly renew it. It taught her the names of different building types and the names of different building equipment, and she always runs to get her blocks and to build stuff after we read it. So it’s quite inspirational for her. I’m also hoping it teaches her to be patient and inclusive when her baby brothers inevitably starts messing with her building projects.

Very cute book!
Bigger! Bigger! is an excellent addition to the Leslie Patricelli collection. It's super cute and has great graphics. My 2.5 year old son likes "reading" it to me. It doesn't have a lot of text, but the art work more than makes up for that.

Informative not entertaining
Cute illustrations that depict comparative words. No exciting story and it didn't really capture the attention of my preschool class. I do think the pictures were well done.

Deceptively simple, this sweet story covers some pretty big topics
We love Leslie Patricelli’s board books around here, so I couldn’t wait to share her newest picture book, Bigger! Bigger! with my little ones. I was not disappointed. This quickly became a bedtime favorite with my three-year-old.The straightforward storyline focuses on a little girl using her imagination to build bigger and bigger creations with her blocks. Unfortunately, all of her hard work is destroyed when her little brother (the baby from Patricelli’s board books) knocks over the buildings. His elation immediately turns to sorrow as he realizes he upset his sister. Instead of becoming angry, she hands over her hard hat and invites her brother to build an even stronger tower together.Deceptively simple, this sweet story covers some pretty big topics. I love how it celebrates children’s imaginations while also highlighting a common scenario amongst kids. There is just something tempting about knocking down a tower of blocks and it happens all the time at home with siblings or at daycare or school among classmates. The girl’s disappointment is clear as is her little brother’s regret. The decision to forgive instead of getting angry leads to a happy and satisfying conclusion that will hopefully serve as a model for other children. In addition, this book serves as a wonderful invitation for children to build their own creations while having a discussion on size.
