White Jameson 5 String Banjo with Closed Back and Geared 5th Tuner

Hi,First off ...Extremely fast delivery.. I ordered on 12/28/2017 and it arrived 12/30/17. Packaging was pretty good too,a Banjo box in a box and styrofoam in all the right places.I unpacked and check for any damage to Banjo. If you look at the back of the Banjo and look at the top head,you will see a green sticker,well all above that area at the very tip of Banjo it is chipped,but it doesn't bother me because it doesn't show in the front.Also some light scratches around the pot (black area),this does't bother me either.If you look at the front of Banjo and look at the head,you'll see a black thing with 3 screws,seems like there is plastic on there. I'll have to look further as I don't want to touch it if it's not plastic,hard to tell. If it is plastic ,screws will need to be removed to remove the plastic covering. I hope it is plastic ,because it looks crappy ad very noticeable .Bridge came installed (surprised by that because bridge usually doesn't come installed) and is way off,but that's expected and easily fixable by adjusting and moving it,so this isn't a problem at all.It only cost $167 so the scratches and chip doesn't bother me,if it was a more expensive Banjo I would've sent it back.Other than this,the Banjo looks great and have no real concerns and happy with my $167 purchase.Going to take it to a professional luthier to go over it and set it up properly .-I'll update when time permits after luthier looks it over.Thanks.

This is my first 5-string banjo. It tunes up easy and accurately with a free banjo tuner app on your phone. You need to buy thumb and finger picks and a strap. Check out Jim Pankey on YouTube for FREE lessons and you'll be on your way. Great banjo for starting out. See if you like it and maybe in a year or three get a middle-of-the-road one. No need to go expensive now. This one has a great sound

For $147 this banjo is great. I've been recording with it for a few months and the playback sounds as good as any $1,000 banjo. I also bought the Jamison 6 String banjo, both are well made, play easily and sound great.

arrived fast, packed well, and in new condition.this is pretty. it's set up ok, but needs a tweak or two to be better. that's ok. I think it plays a little stiff, but again not too bad.this banjo has a nice bright sound. it's loud enough. this banjo also stays in tune after sitting, and after being played. It is not as sensitive to extremes of hot and cold weather as my other banjo of similar price and quality. I think it's a good kickin around banjo for the money.It would be an ok banjo for a beginner, or someone who needs a white banjo for something. I changed this pretty white banjo to five stars. It needs light strings to sound great, and a fresh setup which you can have done at your favorite music store. this banjo has a bright loud sound top and bottom, with the lows not being quite deep enough, however heavier strings can fix that, But light strings are best for this one.I like it.

The string was broken there is rust on the chrome and the bridge is cracked!

Will not hold tuning once tuned. Do yourself a favor and buy a well made Deering Banjo.
