Drive enclosures that work, but read the review.
I have used other Rosewill products and found them to be well made and functional. I ordered 3 of these drive enclosures to hold 3 WD Black 1 TB mobile hard disk drives. While the enclosures are made of plastic, the top has a sheet of what appears to be anodized aluminum (black). The drives fit well in the enclosures and work well in doing exactly what they were designed to do, function as an outboard hard drive. Others have mentioned the attached USB "pigtail" the enclosures are made with are very short, but they are perfectly usable if you have a small desktop on a flat surface or a laptop, which makes it easy to reach the ports. What was unexpected was when the drives are plugged in and in use, my wireless Logitech mouse is susceptible to some kind of interference that comes through the plastic case of the drive enclosures. The mouse returns to normal as soon as the drives are disconnected. I don't know if the blame should be on the electric design of the Logitech wireless system or the design of the WD hard drive or the circuit board in the drive enclosures or their plastic sides. I can say this: Months ago I bought a 1 TB HGST 2.5" mobile hard drive. It was built with an all aluminum enclosure. It has never caused any problems with my wireless mouse. So the Rosewill 2.5" enclosures work as advertised, and they do make for a nice looking portable drive at a very reasonable cost. I can recommend them from those two points. As to whether they will continue to work for the long term (they do include a necessary circuit board and a USB pigtail) I will need to wait and see. The last situation concerning the interference problems with my wireless mouse leaves me without knowing what to recommend. All I can say is I've used the Logitech for many years, with many different computers, pieces of equipment and other drives all around it and have never experienced this problem before. The enclosures may very well not be to blame, but since it is possible to buy drive enclosures that are all metal, the next time I will most likely go that route. In the mean time I will use the Rosewill enclosures with USB extension cables to get as much distance from my mouse as possible.

LED is green, not white.
Aside from the LED color, this enclosure is great. I've had one for several years and it has worked flawlessly. Purchased two more, as I had a few older laptop drives that I wanted to continue using as portable drives. Again, these are great, especially at this price. Drive installation takes seconds. No separate cable to lose. (I have an enclosure with a proprietary cable that is useless since I lost the cable.) Lightweight, compact.EDIT: The LED is green when this enclosure is connected to a USB 3. If you connect to a USB 2, it glows blue. I've also tried this enclosure with a partitioned drive (WD Black2 120G SSD/1T HD) and it works perfectly.

Sturdy Case for External Drive
I have tried several types of external drive enclosures and the Rosewill is my favorite. Inserting a drive to the case is easy and secure. The integrated cable is only about 3 inches long which I find to be an advantage in not having as much cable "spaghetti" to contend with on my desk. j I have tried HDD up to 2TB and it works perfectly. USB 3.0 allows for fast transfer for a moderate amount of files. This is supported by Windows without any additional drivers. I will purchase these again as the "retired hard drive" collection becomes larger.

Very nice case for my hard drive
Very nice case for my hard drive. Has the little piece attached so there is no extra wire to keep track of. This could be a plus or minus depending on which a person prefers. Easy to use, easy to put hard drive into, and the case has not popped open without me wanting it to happen.

Perfect!!
I really like this case. After buying a portable HD as a gift, I was annoyed that that drive came with a separate cable that is kinda non-standard. I'm sure it's a standard but it's not like normal printer A male to B male cables that I have all over. I decided I wanted something with a built-in cable. Looking around, I found this drive bay from a name brand that I'm familiar with from my old PC gamer days and picked a few up. I actually opened up the gifted drive and swapped the HD into this case. I'm a big fan.

interior was too small
Product may be the sizes expressed on outside but interior was too small to hold hard drive. Not worth returning would only get pennies on the dollar with shipping return.

A very small minimalist case but it feels flimsy and the USB cable is short and difficult to maneuver
The case feels very flimsy and the provided (attached) cable is difficult to use and short. Overall this case works but its a pain in the a** and feels like one drop will send your drive to the big pile of PC refuge in the sky. I kept this one in operation only long enough to find a decent solution. If you are looking for a minimalist type case then this is your ticket.

fast and versatile drive enclosure.
Great add on when buying an SSD, use it to copy the old drive in, then swap them out and use the old drive for portable storage. It's easy to open, so swapping it is a cinch. Case holds all sizes of drives, included foam stickers keep them from rattling. Short cable is always present and works great with a laptop or USB hub. Desktop users will need to accommodate somehow. On my laptop it recognizes and is available quickly, transfers are very fast, but I haven't bench marked it to see. I would guess it's faster than my hard drive, maybe faster than my SSD.
