A nice katana, but I feel like I overpaid
This is a nice katana. I like the subtle, yet real, hamon and the color. This katana came out of the box with inconsistent sharpness. While the top half of the blade was very sharp, the bottom half was not so sharp. That is not a big deal for me though since I put a razor sharp edge on it. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star review is because I have been reading reviews from other customers who paid $200 for this product while I paid closer to $300. All in all, I am very happy with the blade, I just feel like I might have paid more for it than other customers.

Excellent value, well made, very pleased
This is the second sword I bought from the company. This is only for display, but I wanted a couple of Katanas that were real rather than just decorative. No flaws, exactly as described, and this is a real sword rather than some cheap junk. You have to be careful with it just like any other real weapon. It also came in a well-made wooden box. I didn't expect a quality box for this low of a price and assumed it would be something cheap. They also did an excellent job of packing, and it arrived several days early so that was a pleasant surprise. Note: I did have to sign for it upon arrival, which is fine.

Nice beginner sword.
Very beautiful blade. Decently sharp, it will cut water bottles easily. The handle is a little light for the overall weight, but it is still well balanced. For this price, you couldn't ask for better. The saya is very cheap, but again, you don't buy a sword at this price for a nice saya. For a first sword, or a backyard cutter it would be hard to do better.

1st time katana owner
Since this is my first katana, I did quite an extensive research on steel grade and what makes katana good. I am satisfy with this product so far, it came with a nice wooden cases, a bag carry, cleaning kit and a certificate with tracking numbers and everything. I haven’t test cutting on zombie yet so I don’t know if there’s any deficiency of the product. I think I will need a short katana/wakizashi of the same theme and same quality to complete the set. If you guys have a wakizashi with the same theme and quality with bargain price then hit me up.

Mindful staff of pros
Work with 1sword for your needs. They carry the individualistic upgrades that among production Katana and don’t charge for being cool enough to do that for those that have yet to learn. Thanks guys!

Beautiful but flawed
Would have loved the sword except for some reason mine came without a tsuba “hand guard”Why? No idea.

Not a katana
Not a katana because it's made without a hamon

Impressive sword
First, I'd like to give props to the seller 1sword for another fast delivery of a hard-to-find sword at an amazing price! Love doing business with you!I took a chance on this one, after loving it's "sister" sword the Musashi Umi (black version). The biggest structural difference between the two is that the Umigame has a Bohi (fuller) which shaves several ounces off the weight. Despite not having a fuller, the Umi is not an excessively heavy sword, and it's very well-balanced, but it is beefy and solid, so I was wondering how adding a Bohi to it would feel. The answer is: Amazing. The Umigame is very nimble, impressively light for how solid it is, and it maintains the quality of the Umi: Comfortable tapered grip, beautiful high-quality brass fittings (once you strip off a little of the excessive blackening), sharp well-made blade with a gorgeous subtle damascus grain (Hada) from the layered construction. This is a fantastic blade at this price point.I was a bit more wary of how gaudy the blueness of it would be, but the scabbard is an almost neon deep dark blue, and the ito is silky medium sea blue (and is synthetic silk, unlike the black cotton of the Umi). It makes for a more colorful sword than my usual preferences, but I like it. However, what finally sold me is not in the product pics on this page, but something I saw on the Musashi website (besides the MSRP, which is a LOT higher than 1sword is asking): On the handle-side of the Tsuba, the sea turtle (Umigame) has a wicked little demon face. Gotta love a sword with some personality.A very good katana for light to medium cutting, kata, iaido, display, or just appreciation of a lovely blade.
