Q: what can be used instead of bags of ice? I go thru 7 lbs to fill up but seem to go thru it quite quickly.Any suggestions of anything else that may wrk

Hi, I had a full shoulder replacement in April, used it 3 xs a day for 2 months. I had my knee replaced Sept 21st. And using ( same pad) again for knee. Wonderful product. No issues. We buy square bottled water . 2 sets. We use 5 frozen bottles, pour in distilled water, and use for the day. Then swap out the frozen bottles. Less messy than ice and lasts longer than most other products. Hope this helps.

Q: What is the difference/size difference between the large shoulder pad and the universal pad?

Get the universal pad. I had nothing but trouble with the shoulder pad. It did not fit, was too small, (I'm 5'6" 150 lbs) the straps did not keep it in place, and it did not cool nearly as well. The universal pad covered a bigger area and cooled great. The straps allowed me to sleep with it on, which was a godsend because I am allergic to opioids, so this was my first line of pain relief. You will want the universal pad, trust me!
