The fret took longer than expected to arrive. We bought it to replace our brass fret for a more contemporary look. Our original fret is a substantial weight compared to this one which is quite flimsy by comparison. The main reason I've felt obliged to write a review though is because there are quite a few deep scratches on one part of it. They are more visible in daylight and are impossible to photograph as the image of the camera is simply mirrored. We deliberated ordering the fret from a supplier who was selling 'slight seconds' at a much cheaper price but decided we would pay over £70 To get a 'perfect product'. The fret does give the fireplace a more modern look but we feel disappointed that it's not the quality we paid for. It was well packaged in so must have left the supplier in this condition. The design does not allow the fret to stand securely and the tray has to be leant against the main body of the fret to maintain position. Looks ok but poor design.
