This tool is really helpful for PH plus if to assure you are feeding too much or too little. The moisture is common sense but for vegetable plants in containers it does help because you know if you can wait another day. Not sure about light but I think that is mostly for indoor plants.The guide that it comes with is very helpful too. It is not one of those hard to ready manuals that fold out 100 times with a tiny font you can't read. It's in color and easy to follow and explains what each setting does.

Seems to work well ! The moisture and light measurements correspond to what you would expect (soil that feels dry measures dry, etc.) - can't really tell about the pH and fertility gauges, but they weren't my main focus anyway. I like that it comes with a little square of sandpaper to burnish the tip if it becomes corroded or less sensitive – – shows attention to detail by the sellers!

this item works very absolutely great in the outdoor garden, seems so far to not have steered me wrong on watering my 90+ crop garden plants and nothing unhappy. the only thing i have to complain about is this is fairly large around in diameter to use if needed to perhaps use it in house plants and makes it potentially root disturbing, and have to often rub sandpaper on it every few uses lightly to get it to read and these two issues are why i put a 4 out of 5 star.

Seems to work great. Readings are nice and quick and it seems to tell me what I would expect based on my watering patterns.Important Note: This cannot be left in the soil long term. Instructions specify it has to be used to take a reading, then removed and cleaned. There's a good reason for this, see below.This operates by creating a galvanic voltage, or "battery", in the soil. Same as a potato clock, or a lemon battery. Two different metals, next to each other, in a salty or acidic liquid, is what powers the gauge. You can't leave it in the soil because that is a chemical process. The metal electrodes get eroded away to create that voltage.So, this has a fixed lifespan. There's a certain total amount of time this can spend in the ground before the electrodes are gone, and that's how any device like this will work. The electrodes seem nice and thick, this should last for a long time as long as that lifespan isn't getting wasted by leaving it in the ground all day when nobody's looking at it.Testing it around my garden, I got what look like correct readings in the following situations:* Dry soil that I had not watered in a few days.* Dry soil underneath but it looks wet because of surface moisture from the 'mist' setting on my hose.* Dry surface soil, but it's wet underneath from watering right next to it.* Moist soil that was watered hours prior and has had time to soak and disperse.* Very wet soil from a fresh long soak with the hose.

This probe did not work at all. There telling me I have to return this broken product apparently at my cost to receive another one just like it or get a refund to my Amazon account. Really ????

Easy device to use. Just stick it in your potted plant and read the meter. Seems pretty accurate to me and gives me peace of mind that I'm not over/under watering.

This is a good durable moisture meter. It is easy to read because you can tip the meter to see it from above. So far it has been pretty accurate. I don't over-water with this tool.
