Unit worked like a charm. I needed to trace out a Cat5 wire to my closet and there is no way I would've ever found that wire without this unit. I didn't want to spend a ton on one of these as It will likely get used once every five years or so, so this was a pleasant find.I like that there is a little led light that you can turn on/off on the tip of the probe, that came very handy. I was able to easily tone out the correct cat5 line in the closet. I then also used the "network" test to ensure all the pins were connected and that worked well also. For simple home use, this item worked well for me.

Initially wrote a single star review, but after playing with this probe I found that the user manual was the problem not the device itself, so it's 3 stars because the manual isn't clear at all.When you attempt to tone a line out it doesn't state that your best bet is to set it to the "scan" mode vs "tone" mode. It does test network cables spot on, and the scan mode works well.

I have had this tool for about a year now and it is still working great. I have used this numerous times to trace and rj11, rj 45, phone dial tones and speaker wire. I don't know what I would do without this and best part is that it is not near as expensive as a name brand one. This tool is of great quality, does the job and is about 1/4 of the price of some name brand network testers

Unit did not work at all. Regrettably, I didn’t check it when I received it so that I could have returned it. Chinese junk!

Had to go through the hassle of an exchange on the first one. Second one works. Build is very very cheap, but so is the price. I'm left wishing for a $10 more expensive device with a little higher quality.

I bought this thinking I could get by I was dead wrong went to a commercial job and did not tone. This is fine for home networks but commerical jobs this won't work.

This product never worked. The tone side and continuity never worked on this equipment. I switched batteries and tested every which way but couldn't get the unit to function.I didn't use it until 6 weeks after purchase so I didn't bother sending it back.

Had to return them. Weak signal, can't determine which wire in the bundle is being tested. Poor quality. Just cheap Chinese crap.
