Helps with my belly-hang back pain!
I finally found something that helps with my lower back pain due to lower belly-hang. For me it was immediate relief! After buying and trying belts, girdles, panty/girdles, surgery belts and what have you, for the first time in years I have relief from my lower back pain. I'm amazed and so happy! As I've gotten older, (69), and due some to lack of activity after having to leave my job due to disability, I started getting some lower belly-hang that was pulling on my lower back. I have hurt for so many years that it has caused me to be even more inactive, and has sent me to doctor after doctor for some suggestions and relief. I can't believe no one suggested a medical belt or something like this. This belt, that I found while searching Amazon once again for something to try, had some good reviews for a few other people suffering from what I thought was the same as myself and I thought what the heck, I'll spend the money and at least try it. I was getting desperate for some relief and ordered it. When it came I was skeptical, but after putting it on and adjusting it a little, oh my gosh! I was able to stand up straighter....no back pain! It hits just the right spot holding up my belly, and I can't say enough about the ability to stand without pain in my back! When your back hurts, it robs you of your normal quality of life. I couldn't exercise as I wanted to try to strengthen my tummy muscles, and in fact I didn't feel like doing anything physical. I haven't even had a good night's sleep in years, so I'm eternally tired. Now that I have this support belt, I'm looking forward to taking walks to start moving around again and maybe start exercising some on some stationary bikes at my clubhouse. And(!), I look forward to cleaning my house like I used to, though I have to ease into that. I've had to hire help for that, and that gets expensive! Just the thought that I can stand longer at my kitchen sink to do dishes, or bake, do laundry, make my bed....it's the best I have felt physically and mentally in a long, long time. This will not help everyone, I understand that. But it is helping me. Immensely. You can't believe what a life changer this is going to be. Ok, now to facts of the order and product. I ordered the XL-XXL belt in black, mainly to make sure I had some "playroom" to adjust if needed. I was afraid of ordering too small and having to return it for a larger size, but this works for me. I might have gotten away with the next size smaller, but for my hips, (46"), I went for the size recommended. When I took it out of the package there is an odor, but I think it's a rubber smell. Stinky, but I think that will go away after wearing it and airing it out some. I wrapped the belt from behind to my front, made sure my belly was supported correctly, and used the main velcro to secure it. (Easy!) Then took the attached side velcro straps to tighten it a little. I'll have to find my perfect tension but I was happy right away. It fit well, and seems very well sewn together. It's not flimsy. It's sturdy. The belt also shipped pretty fast, I think I had it about 4-5 days after ordering. I know this belt will not be for everyone, but for me it is such a winner! Sorry for the long review, but for the first time in years I feel optimistic about my pain free future and dealing with and strengthening my lower back muscles. I hope if you have back pain due to lower belly problems that this helps you decide whether to try it or not. If it doesn't help you, you can always return it. I'm keeping mine!

Comfortable, Easy to Use, Stays in Place, and Relieves my SI joint pain!
The Sacroiliac SI Joint Hip Belt works great! I suffered from diagnosed SI joint sclerosis for over a number of years. My primary care physician and the radiologist diagnosed me with SI Joint sclerosis (I thought it was Bursitis based on my research). My doctor told me take ibuprofen, apply hot and cold, etc. - this helped some, but did not alleviate the pain much. I then went to a chiropractor that did some manipulation and showed me some stretch/exercises - this also helped a little, but not much. Finally, I read about SI hip belts and, since they were not too expensive, thought I would give it try. Wow! What a difference the hip belt made. All the activities I enjoy (downhill skiing, back country skiing, hiking, biking, and walking) exacerbated the pain in the past. The hip belt has almost totally eliminated the pain during and after these activities! I read some Amazon reviews that said the belt does not stay in place. I have worn the belt on the outside of my pants, but almost always wear it beneath my pants. The belts does not slip. The belt can cause sweating in the area when worn doing more strenuous activities, but is hardly noticeable until you remove the belt. Not that I often wear a waist pack during many of these activities, and that can also add to the sweating. So far the quality is great! Since the belt is mostly elastic, I expect that it will stretch out over time - but based on the price and how well it works, it will be worth it replace the belt when the needed." I highly recommend this belt if you suffer from SI hip pain. UPDATE 09/21/21: I have been using this belt for well over a year now. I primarily use it hiking (I hike or cross-country ski 5 to 10 miles in the mountains almost everyday). The belt shows little wear even with frequent machine washings and air drying (I don't use a clothes dryer for it). The belt has stretched a little, but still holds my sacroiliac together to reduce inflammation. The belt stays in place whether by itself, with a waist pack, a daypack, or a backpack. I usually wear it over my pants, but have also used it underneath. Great product!

Works WAY Better Than Expected!
This simple device gave me a whole lot more pain relief than I’d hoped for. Clearly, I have SI joint issues, or it wouldn’t have worked. I wear it daily, and the build quality seems good. Other reviewers have mentioned that the rubberized inner surface tears, but I doubt that’ll be the case with me—it seems quite robust. Stitching is excellent. Very easy to put on and use (just place it at the right height on your hips…you’ll need to experiment. Once I got it dialed in, wow. Pleasingly, it fits under my gym shorts and, with a T-shirt over that, it’s invisible. Velcro is strong. Shows no sign of weakening. Smaller size is perfect for my 36” hips (in fact, I’m on the small end for that size. I’m slender and pull the straps as tight as they’ll get. This size would fit someone with 38” hips easily. Considering my degree of pain, this gizmo was an incredible bargain at around 30 bucks.

Great compact support, adjustable
Great compact support! I had gotten a bigger band , different brand and it was too bulky. This one is a nicer fit. The band does stay put and does NOT slip. I can have it under a tunic and look fine. The Velcro holds up well. Compression is good and can be adjusted to your preference. My hips are 39inches to 41 inches, and swings widely from month to month. I got the size that would fit 39 inches on the hip and there is enough room to tighten it some or to relax it to fit the 41 expansion if needed. Highly recommend this one.

It really helps with SI joint pain
Works exactly as needed! Great quality and very comfortable as far as braces go.

Meh...
It does relieve the pain, but causes pain in the hip muscles when moving around. ( Gluteus minimus) Any law enforcement officer knows that pain from the belt weight.

I have encountered my worse SI Joint inflammation yet leading to sciatica which prompted me to finally purchase one of these lower back/tailbone belt. I also did a test by purchasing this product and another one that had looked similar and way more cheaper. The cheapest version arrived earlier and I wrapped this around for 10 minutes standing, but the belt did not help my sciatica - numbed thighs, I felt discomfort and more numbed, I didn’t think it was the product itself, I just thought that these belt are another one of those gimmicky buys and took the belt off. This ActivePlay version arrived the next day but due to the experience of trying the cheaper version the night before, I assumed this would be the same experience; numbing, tight and discomfiting - not my preference. I put this PlayActive one for what I thought would have been only 10 minutes and held no expectations… I wore this belt and (with slow steadiness) was able to do some light task for a further 30 minutes. The next morning, to double check the test for both belts, I wore the cheaper version again and feel unsteady trying to stand up right to brush my teeth (I give up and sit on the side of my bath for support) and then swap for the PlayActive version and my lower back feels secure. Comparison: The appearance of both do look the same except for PlayActive’s belt inner grips are slightly thicker, meaning more gripping, more resistant so, more secure. Which is why my lower back seems more secure. I was keen to return this product and was hoping the cheaper version could work but I took the sensible option: the comfort, less pain, slightly more mobile and at ease, this one is a winner.
