Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  You can control the plugs independently with Alexa, it’s just complicated to figure out. I’m not exactly sure what step of this process made it work but here is what I did step by step:1. Set up plug through the smartlife app as normal, naming both outlets different names and the whole outlet a separate name in smartlife.2. Add device through the Alexa app (mine discovered the whole outlet on its own once it was connected to WiFi. Just make sure it’s in your devices before proceeding)3. Inside the smartlife app I created a scene where it specifically only turned on one of the two outlets. Alexa will see this scene as soon as you create it. The language to use it is stupid but I tested it out to make sure it went through first. The scene I set up with the above video upon set up was just to simply turn on the air filter and turn off the space heater.4. Go back into the Alexa app and manually go to discover new devices. Each of your separately named outlets will be added as new devices. The whole outlet will still be there as well.Essentially Alexa sees one double outlet plug as three devices. The whole outlet to be turned on/off as a whole and each individual outlet. I have no idea how I got this to work but I did it with both of my plugs and it works flawlessly as you can see in the video. I hope this is easy to understand and helps some people that are struggling with their expectations of this plug. I really wish this thing came with instructions that explained this is possible.

This was easy peasy to set up. The smart Life app works great, the Alexa app works great with it, and Alexa voice control works great. I'm going to buy another set. I just wish this brand had smart dimmer switches.Also, when you pair the outlet in the alexa app as a device the outlet comes up as 3 different devices- the dual plug, and each individual plug- so you can control them separately or together on the alexa app! I have a different brands' smart strip and of course in the smart life app you can control everything separately, but in the alexa app it only gives you the option of on and off. Therefore I'm very impressed with this brand! Too bad when i was buying a smart strip Gosunds stopped being for sale on Amazon temporarily and I wonder if Gosunds smart strips outlets can be controlled separately like the dual plug can?I didn't do any wierd work arounds or create any scenes, alexa just discover everything on her own. The dual plug as 1 device, and each individual plug. I wonder why other people are having such issues controlling them separately. Maybe they updated the software or ideas lucky. I'm betting they just updated their software

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  My key want for these outlets was to control the studio LED lights that I use while streaming - and this does a great job. It was a little challenging to setup, I had to use the slow pulsing method to connect to WiFi but the documentation was good. Took about 5-10 minutes to get it setup and synched to my Echo/Alexa. Very happy with it since then.

There are many smart plugs to choose from. I picked this for its safety and that it will not block the other plug socket as well. It was very easy to connect to my Alexa and down load the smarthome app. Very pleased.

Works perfectly for Alexa! Great value that you are actually getting 4 plugs (2 dual outlets) For those who didn’t get it to work, you may want to check that you have added the “Gosund skill” in your Alexa app (it’s mentioned on the manual but I missed that part the first time). Here are my steps that I used to get it work1) Download the gosund app and register2) plug in your WiFi plugs and add your plugs by connecting the gosund app to your WiFi3) (optional but recommend) Rename your plugs in the gosund app so you know which one is which. The default names were too generic. You want to rename 3 things per outlet since you can opt to control the entire dual outlet or individually. E.g., “Plug 1”, “Plug 1 right”, and “Plug 1 left”.4) Go to Alexa app and add Gosund skill, it should then discover the devices automatically5) Voila it should work!

It's too bad it's not currently for sale from Gosund, only third party for ridiculous prices (I got it on sale for 10 which is an amazing value). Gosund if you're reading this, please reconsider because you have a great design!**The outlet space saving design and independent controls is a big plus. Power measurement is a nice bonus (update: new model dropped this, waah..) and a confirmation your device is running as expected. Even better is that this works reasonably on a switched outlet, by remembering its state before shutoff and not taking more than a couple seconds to power on if it was on before. If you have a standing/table light on two wall switches, you can't use the single pole smart switches, so other than sticking a smart bulb and getting a hub etc this is the only workable solution I found. Of course you need to remember to keep your light switch on if you want to flip them remotely back on, but it was a cheap way to have both old school and automated light switching. I have the single outlet circular Gosund as well, and it does not come back on after power is restored if it used to be on.**Update:This came back redesigned with LED arrows indicating which socket is on vs the old model that didn't, which is a smart update. I see it has a new timer feature which I suppose could come in handy for some, but personally I found the power measurement to be more useful. Oddly one of the two pack takes about 1.5sec to come on from power restoration vs 0.75 of the other, and it is consistent. Still a good value, but I'm glad I got a pair of the older ones with power measurement. Just got the new pair, hope they are as reliable as the old were.

You can control each outlet separately. Just name each outlet itself and you can control them separately. These are nice because they do not cover the other outlet when plugged in. They are well built and sturdy.
