Great Bass
The shorter scale makes it easy to fly around the neck with ease, the set up was good out of the box, nice low action. The pickups sound good. The lower tension of the strings make bending super easy. The only thing i needed to adjust was the intonation, no big deal it's a 5 min job and the tools to do it are in the box. This bass is not just a great bass for the money, it's a great bass period. This bass is not just for kids and beginners I've been playing for 35 years and have many guitars and bases and this thing holds it's own. It has a little more bass frequencies than a regular size PJ Bass due to the shorter scale but it can also growl with the treble turned up. Only negative is i thing the head stock looks ugly but i can live with that

Great sound for money
Bought this from musicroom through Amazon. Exceptionally packaged! Two days early. The bass, amazing. For the price, it’s a great bass. Feels great and sounds good. From my first cheap guitar 15 years ago to now, the quality has improved so much.

Solid bass
It's a good bass. Feels solidly made. The audio is decent and the strings provided are good. My only complaint would be the style of the tunings but that is purely personal preference. I highly recommend this bass.

Neck Heavy
I wanted to try a short scale bass. I normally play a full scale instrument. The Ibanez is well constructed but it is 'neck heavy' so you have to adjust your playing style to compensate. This has been a bit of a pain but it happens with some bass models. The item I received appeared to be new but there was quite a lot of scratching on the string guard even after I had removed the protective plastic.Overall, I am satisfied and have decided to keep the instrument from Musicman. It was well packed and otherwise presentable.

IBANEZ TALMAN SHORT SCALE BASS IN BLACK
Having played bass guitar back in the 1960/70 the urge to play again prompted me to buy a new bass. THIS IBANEZ BASS IS BRILLIANT having owned Gibson and a Ibanez Rickenbacker back in 1970s I don't know how they produce this bass at such a reasonable price.

Solid, good looking bass
A solid, no frills short-scale four stringer. Played straight out of the box and didn't need any truss adjustments. Exactly what I expect from Ibanez - good quality hardware and construction, and a reliable tone. Very satisfied! 😊

Buzzes
I'm giving this 3 because it turned up in opened packaging so was obviously a return, it buzzed terribly but after adding new pickups and getting it set up now sounds amazing

Unreal, not even for the price
Genuinely blown away with this bass! Plays perfectly right out of the box. Feels great, plays great, looks great. I don’t think I can ever willingly go back to standard scale.

Recommend this over a Squier Affinity/Sonic
To get this out of the qay first:This was sold and shipped by Amazon at the time of purchase. They shipped it in the Ibanez box that had 2 small strips of packing tape on the sides. The bottom was wet with it being rainy and all.The bass: I'm impressed overall! Especially considering how I've been burned with Fender/Squier in recent times.Headstock/Tuners: 3/5head-heavy, mainly due to the tuners. Tuning quality can be improved. The E key was loose.Nut: 4/5they seem to be well done. Only issue is the E is cut a bit low which leads to buzzing on the upper register.Neck: 5/5Can't complain! No buzzing the rest of the way down. Fretboard can use oil but it’s not bone-dry to the point of being ashy like Squiers.Frets aren't polished but that's fine. They are acceptably leveled without any sharp ends. I've gone through 4 Fenders and 2 Squiers in the past year and they all have unseated/uneven frets.Body 4/5Really light which is great but leads to neck-dive.No scratches. Had 2 layers of plastic on the pickguard.Electronics 3.5/5Controls aren't scratchy but more on-off. Output jack in loose.Pickups are on the brighter side but can be easily EQ'd on the amp. I find this is better than brightening a dark pickup.Other hardware 5/5Haven't tried unscrewing anything yet but won't be surprised if these are budget screws. Strap knobs are the mushroom type which I find keeps straps better than the cone type. Bridge can't be swapped directly for a Fender Hi-mass but it's fine.
