This stuff is great. I have several diamond plates for flatting water stones. I am anal with my tools so I always clean and dry everything, but I still had some rust on two of them, even after trying to care for them. With HoneRite, I mixed and poured the contents into a spray bottle that I keep by my plates and stones. I have used diamond plates for hours since I've added HoneRite and I no longer have rust issues. Love it.

I've previously used oils, water or automotive windshield washer liquid on my sharpening devises. Then I saw a video that recommended the HoneRite solution. So I purchased a bottle from Amazon and received it within a few days. After trying it on my diamond stones I find that it works better than other solutions in that it not only seems to last longer but also helps protect your tools from rust that occurs with some other solutions. I am switching over to HoneRite Gold Honing Solution exclusively. It works!

Great balance of protection without “oiling” up the experience. I bought this for my Trend diamond stone, which was oxidizing FAST. The Trend loves it and it doesn’t complicate things with my water stones. It’s early days, but I can’t really ask for more. Great product

Hone Rite Gold works well to prevent rust from high carbon steel tool sharpening with water stones. It’s seems pricey but it’s concentrated and you can expect to get at least 6 L worth of solution from the bottle. I mix it up in a small hand sprayer and squirt bottle. It works well with my ceramic and diamond stones as well.

This honing solution exceeded my expectations.Using it on diamond and waterstones improved the stones cutting performance and made it easier to keep the stones clean without build up on the surfaces. I am using it in the solution with my Tormek and the difference it has made is significant. The Stone stays cleaner and cuts better with no build up on the stone surface. I cannot speak to the anti corrosion properties yet because I haven't been using it long enough to determine it's effect. Highly recommended. the

I use this on occasion for sharpening my hand planes but for the cost there are other things to use that are so expensive that work equally as well. I do so much sharpening in the course of a day that it gets expensive if I only used this one. So I supplement this with my regular solution to make it last longer.

I mixed the solution as directed for use on diamond sharpening plates; if any of the solution is left on the plates rust will form. I bought this to prevent the formation of rust but it doesn't seem to be doing the job properly. For the high cost of the small bottle I would just stick to plain water since the steel has to be just as dry in order to prevent rust.

good product at least the screw top stays on while in transport bit to pricey for Australian diy
