That's What Leprechauns Do

This is one of the cutest books I've ever read, full of mischief and great illustrations. There are not many St. Patrick's Day books that are this good for a young child, and this certainly tops the bunch for creativity and mirth. But it is also a wonderful book at any time of year to give to a child as the story is not limited to the holiday, and will stimulate imagination and lots of laughs!

My husband is from Ireland. My sons kindergarten teacher asked my husband to come to school and be the Secret Reader. He brought this book to read to the class. The children had all built their Leprechaun traps and he read this book to the children the day the project was due- They LOVED it!! It is a cute little story - I gave it 4 stars because as an adult the story seemed a little unfinished to me - but kids don't care! If you buy this - I'm sure your kids will love it! It shows just how sneaky those little leprechauns can be! ;)

I love this story and so does my 3yr old and my husband. The 3 cause some mischief along their way to put the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow even though they are determined to not stop to do any. "After all, that's what leprechauns do best (mischief) along with our more important duties (putting pot of gold out).The mischief is all mild like painting the cows hooves.

When purchasing this book, I knew Eve Bunting was the author of some great childrens literature so I thought this book would be good. We didn't have any St. Patrick's Day books so I just wanted to add one to our holidy book collection. I definitely didn't antcipate how much my 5 year old would fall in love with this tale of 3 mischevious Lepreachauns! This book is positvely delightful! Great pictures, magical story and a great discussion starter for teaching the difference between funny jokes and mean pranks. Also a fun way to teach kids about Leprechsun legend!

Bought as a St Patrick's day gift for my toddler, he enjoyed the story and pictures.

This is a delightful story about two fun loving leprechauns in rural Ireland. Kids love the mischievious little fellows and their pranks. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

This is such a cute book about leprechauns. It give a background about leprechauns, that is it points out that leprechauns are mischievous. In the story the leprechauns are in a hurry to hide their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow on their way they play a few pranks on the humans like hiding a jacket. The book is a little wordy so kids younger than three may have a hard time staying focused.

This book was a great book to read to students. I read it to 3rd graders and they thought it was funny. I used it as a compare/contrast to another story that has leprechauns and they loved to point out the differences and similarities. This was a good book that was fun and there are not a lot of Leprechaun stories or St. Patrick day stories so I was glad I got it to add to my school collection.
