Unbelieveable Sound!
I have owned this system for 4 months. This is my first surround sound system ever and man am I glad I resesearched this for 2 years first. This speaker set wasn't even in production when I started looking. I have a small living room area about 12' x 10'. I did not need towers. This kit comes with 4 sattelite speakers, 1 center and 1 powered subwoofer. NO these speakers are not "cheap". NO they are not budget speakers. They did not come from Walmart. I expect quality due to the Klipsch name and that is exactly what you get. These are the nicest plastic housing speakers I've ever seen in my life. There is not one knic or sharp edge on any of the platic housing and everything is built well and solid. The speakers themselves are heavier and larger than they look. The sattelite speakers are about twice the size I expected them to be. The 10" subwoofer is what really makes this system come alive. I like to feel the bass more than hear it so I turned my crossover down to about 65hz. Man.. it punches hard - Shakes my entire couch. I recommend taking the time to learn the basics of home theater setup and crossover and how distances affect listening quality. Set this system up right, and you will have a system that just makes you smile and come back for more. The Best sounding movies on this system so far: Man of Steel (omg) Thor (some addtl tweaking neccesary) Marvel's Avengers Ready Player One So after a while I think the sub sounds better now than it did when it was new. The sound is the best when you watch movies that have either newer Dolby Atmos or DTS. More movies that sound awesome: Kong Skull Island Spectre John Wick 4 Lone Survivor

Dolby atmos speaker review 5.1.4
Dolby atmos version review FANTASTIC VALUE! These speakers are larger than the 5.1 surround package, a note-able upgrade being the subwoofer 8 vs 10 inches. The uprising speakers are not very effective but way more effective than sound bar up-firing speakers, I wouldn’t get a 9 channel amplifier for these. For $850 you can get these with a Sony dh790. This package comes with speaker wire. Only thing you will need is places to put the speakers. These speakers are phenomenally easy to drive and get loud! Very immersive, sound stage is lacking but at this price point they are phenomenal! I tried several high end sound bars before landing on this, and I am not disappointed in the slightest. It made me want to get surround setups in ever single room where I watch movies or play games. 10/10 recommend. Cheap if paired with Sony dh 590 or dh 790. Get a better reciever if you intend on using this as an entry level speaker system. Careful not to overdrive the upward firing speakers to make them effective - they only handle 40w peak, several users on Klipsch website report they have blown theirs.

Amazing sound in a smaller package. Get some of these to help connecting the wires
I moved into a smaller space and my 11 Infinity speakers just wouldn't fit. After looking at various soundbars and speaker combos I decided to try the Klipsch. I've always liked the sound and Adorama's price was unbeatable. They arrived on time (in a very heavy box) and were pretty easy to set up. The wire they sent were very small gauge and nowhere near long enough for the rears so I opted for regular 16 gauge all the way around. The connectors on the speakers are a bit wonky to use. I was continually having difficulty making a good connection. I eventually stumbled on these 2mm connectors and problem solved. It's still pretty tight, so get the longest ones you can find . Now they click in and the connection is right. I hit the power switch and was pleasantly amazed. The highs were crisp not shrill, the dialogue crystal clear, and the subwoofer subtle and strong without being boomy. The Atmos certainly filled the room without having to crank the volume. I later added another R-100SW Subwoofer to balance out the room.At this price and the reliable Klipsch build I'm as satisfied as I can be. After having these for a few months now I love them even more.

Atmos 5.1.4 speaker system, great for the price
The seller must have lost money having these shipped UPS to Alaska. The slightly cheaper 5.1 speakers said they couldn't ship to my area, so I got the 5.1.4 system for not much more. They sound very good for $380. I couldn't find anything decent cheaper, even without the subwoofer, which I don't even use. My subwoofer seems to work fine. No complaints about buzzing and such that others complain about. But I live in an apartment and can't blast things at night, especially not the bass. I don't really like bass thumping anyway. The center speaker is nice and crisp. Dialogue/talking is much easier to understand than with my Sonos Beam v1 sound bar and rear speakers. But it also has enough of a bass on its own for me. The surround speakers are equally nice. I have not blasted them, but they sound good at normal listening levels. My Sony Atmos recievier is 7.1. I've tried these Klipsch speakers as 5.1.2, with the height speakers in the front as well as in the back. It is OK, but not great. I'm sure it would sound better if I could use both front and back height speakers at once. I think ceiling speakers would be better. Or maybe I don't play them loud enough to actually bounce the sound off the ceiling and back down. Instead I hooked up the 2 decent stereo speakers I already had to make a 7.1 system (actually 7.0 without the subwoofer) and I prefer that to using the height speakers for most things. It is more compatible with 5.1 and 7.1 audio (like my PS5), and also sounds fine in Atmos mode for the AppleTV, etc. But I can tell the difference when using the height speakers, so they certainly aren't useless if you have a receiver to handle them. My living room area is about 13' x 13'. If you have a huge, private house you might want something beefier. But I think these speakers would work for most people seeking sub-$500 surround sound speakers. A friend came over when I was just playing stereo music on them. I used to always use my Sonos Beam. He commented that the speakers sounded good, or better than usual. He hadn't realized I got these new speakers. My Sony receiver was about $800 and has a calibration mic. It can set the dB for each speaker as well as the EQ automatically, so that might have helped these sound bit better than out of the box. But I'm sure you can at least tweak the highs and lows manually if needed with most receivers. The box for the 5.1.4 set is huge and heavy! About 80 pounds. I didn't weight it, but UPS had "warning! Over 70 lbs!" stickers all over the box. Nearly half of that is the subwoofer. The box was about 3.5' x 2' x 1.5'. The surround speakers are pretty light and about 11" at the front and a little over 13" at the back. I'm not sure what's up with the huge price cut. New model coming? Problems with the subwoofer? Quality control? But they seem worth a try if you're on a budget, have a small space, or just want some starter surround speakers.

Klipsch quality at a very reasonable price
Great speakers for a very reasonable price. I set this up for a family member using an ancient Onkyo TX SR705, so no ATMOS. The room was medium in size, 12 x14 feet. It compared favorably to my own Onkyo RZ50 using Klipsch RP 6040FAs, surrounds, and two 500 watt subwoofers, in a much larger room, so room size is important. For a medium and smaller room, you'll be hard pressed to beat this, considering the price.

Wow!
Wow! Totally salified+ for the money. Now, I have an old Klipsch soundbar & Bluetooth woof I bought about 10 years ago for my TV. That still works & was well worth ~$100, but was the time in my life to upgrade, but not too expensive. I'm a former musician and a bit of a stickler for accurate sound representation. Happy with my old cheaper stuff, I ordered this system for $340.. It is awesome and accurate, full bass to crisp cymbals. Needed to combine it with a new sound system too, so I picked the Pioneer VSX-534 Home Audio w/Dolby 5.1.4 Surround at $350. So, for $790 (not $3 or $4K), this combo rocks the charts and more than salifies the ears without getting a mortgage. You need to tune it a bit top suit your ears, but from football to your favorite music, it'll more than do the job without breaking the bank. Kudos to both Klipsch and Pioneer!
