Volta 31-560031 Belleview Collection Triple (3) Rustic Brown Watch Winder

I will give credit to Volta for really nailing the unboxing experience. Boxes inside boxes inside wraps - just like a watch! Well done. And the wood (rubber wood, I believe), while not awe inspiring, is nice. The unit I received had an upgraded, LCD touchscreen with haptic feedback. There was also a remote (not my cup of tea but I am sure some people love that).But there are several points of contention. The first being the lock/latch design. The lower door has no spring catch, meaning that if you want to keep it shut securely, the key must be used to lock the door in place. The second is insufficient clearance at the lower hinge, causing the rubberwood to rub on one side. Third, and the main reason I am returning the unit - no door sensor to stop the winders upon opening. This one is a consequence of skipping inclusion of a spring catch, as the door truly would not close at all (without locking) if a pressure sensor was used without this addition.So without a pressure sensor, the means using the power button on the back of the unit. And in the case of my unit, it didn't do anything. Not good.At an MSRP of ~600 there are much better options.

The product is keeping all three watches in perfect time wether I wear them or not. The price was not bad, considering how much some of the other winders I checked out were. It displays the watches nicely and makes a nice jewelry box too. The only complaint is that the holder is a little small for a Cartier. I had my wife make a small watch pillow for that, so it would hold that watch more securely.

Very nice product and good quality. The only reason don't give it 5 star is because the main control is in the back of the box. In order to program the time, you will need to turn the box around. You will have to do the same if you want to turn on and off too. Other than that is really a excellent product.

This is an incredibly well designed and crafted piece of "art".
