Bought this for my daughter venturing on a ten day Desert Biology camping trip out in the Southwest region of the US. She loved the sturdiness and easy clean up of the stainless steel. Came in it’s own carry pouch and could handle the rugged terrain during some of her hikes. She loved it so much that when she got back, she kept the mug out to use for her morning coffee! She said it reminds her everyday of the adventure she had in New Mexico.

The mess kit arrived quickly and was just as pictured. My daughter used it for a Girl Scout camping trip and felt that it came out cleaner after the dunking process than in the past when she had a plastic kit. Plastic kits are less expensive, but apparently more prone to break and to harbor germs/bacteria than stainless steel.

I read other reviews and saw complaints about the cup’s lid having a loose or broken knob. I ordered two and one kit had a loose knob and the other didn’t. We used them for a scout camp out and they worked out well. Just be careful when extremely hot food or liquids are in them as the kit absorbs the heat.

I ordered 2 sets, 0sets arrived In a timely manner.They are part of a preparedness kit. I saw no reason why they were to be unsatisfactory for my purpose or camping for that matter.The came inside a mesh bag as well.Happy with the transaction and product.

I purchased two of these because my girlfriend and I are going to go camping together for the first time and I don't have a set so I thought I would buy a nice set. I unpacked them both and wanted to give them an initial wash before use. The lid handle fell off while I was washing it without much abnormal force. I think this set is still usable but I think it is a matter of time before the other lid breaks. The lid will always be functional, but if it is hot, it will probably be painful to take off without a glove or some towel to help.That appears to be the weakest part of the set so I still look forward to using it for my upcoming trip.

This set of plate, cutlery, cup and lid for the cup is made out of quality stainless steel, and it did not even scratch after being used on a camping trip. It looks nice, it seems like it will really last. The mesh bag for it is great.
