Let me start off by saying I was very nervous about ordering a mattress off amazon, especially from a company I hadn’t heard of... but I needed a bed rather quickly, and I didn’t want to settle for an innerspring mattress or anything less than a king. So here we are.I did compare a few models before deciding on this one. I knew I wanted at least a 12” memory foam mattress that featured cooling gel (memory foam mattresses sleep much hotter than spring mattresses, this is a must for me). The 20 year warranty is a huge feather in the cap for peace of mind. The price point, features, and overall high rating is what made me pull the trigger on this purchase.I received the mattress in 2 business days (prime). It was well-packaged and arrived without any damage/issues. I actually unboxed the mattress on my hour lunch break, and by the time I was leaving to return to work—the mattress had almost already fully expanded (30~ mins). I did allow the mattress to sit in my living room for about 8-9hrs total before moving it into the frame I had purchased. My girlfriend and I slept on the mattress the very same night. I feel like it’s inportant to note that there was no chemical smell at all. Several of the reviews that don’t rate highly report this, but I did not experience it at all.Now for the feel of the mattress. A lot of the lower rating reviews complain that this mattress is “too stiff” or “feels like sleeping on plywood”. This is not my experience at all. Everyone’s needs and opinions on firmness are different. The mattress is slightly more firm than other memory foam mattresses I’ve laid on, but it is rated “medium-firm”, and I believe that is absolutely spot on. It gives me the support I’m looking for while still also being very comfortable. You won’t “sink in” to the mattress, but it certainly isn’t like lying on plywood, either. If you prefer a much softer feel to your mattress, they have a medium firmness option that will probably meet your expectations. But if you’re wanting a mattress that doesn’t give you that “quicksand” feeling, this is probably the choice for you. I’ve always heard that medium-firm allows the spine to rest in a natural position.I’ve still only had the mattress a few days now, but I’m over the moon with the quality I’ve received for the price I’ve paid. My sleep quality and comfort have been excellent. I will try to make an update once I’ve had the mattress longer. But as of now, I am very pleased and wouldn’t hesitate buying another “Amazon exclusive” bed in a box!

My wife thought I was crazy to buy a mattress online. She wanted to go to a store so we could see, touch and feel what we were buying.So I called Amazon and asked about their return policy. Amazon said we had up to 90 days to try it. If we didn't like it they will refund me 100% and have a contracted service come pick it up as it is. No need to repack it into original box (which would be impossible). This goes for the Revel brand I purchased (Amazon's white label house brand), not sure if it goes for all mattresses Amazon sells.Anyway, the mattress came a day early. The king size is quite heavy, about 95 lbs. It expanded fully within 12 hours and more than 90% in only a couple hours.Mattress firmness is very subjective. Both my wife and I (130lb & 175lb, 55 & 60 years old) prefer firmer mattresses and this Revel Custom is firm. She loves it; I like a little softer top. Since we had 2" tempurpedic memory foam topper on our old mattress, I cut it in half and put it on my side. Now we're both 100% happy.Thanks Amazon for selling such an affordable, high quality, supportive yet comfortable and made-in-USA mattress!

1st time buying a memory foam mattress, and we couldn't be happier!! My wife and I went to a mattress store to try them out, and we loved them, just not the price. And even between the higher end models to the lower end, we didn't notice much difference. But the cheapest mattress was $800. After already seeing the prices on Amazon, that's where I headed as soon as we left the store. I had my eye on another, with thousands of positive reviews, but everything was made overseas. Scrolled down a little more and came across the Revel. It was cheaper, and mostly made in the U.S. Only the cover is made in China, and the topper made in Canada. There were only 19 reviews, which sometimes makes me skeptical, but I took a chance. Glad I did. This bed is fantastic to sleep on. It is firmer than a regular mattress, but in a good way. We were going to buy the softer version, but we are glad we didn't. It doesn't have the cold, cooling effect some of the expensive models at the store had, but it doesn't sleep hot either. More like a standard mattress. Also, when we unpackaged it, it was fully expanded in about an hour. The mattress was made on Nov. 18th, 2018, so it wasn't squished up for more than 2 weeks. $389 for a king size mattress that is actually very comfortable and mostly made in America, is mind blowing to me. Matress is very firm for average weight people. I am 5'10" 165lbs and my wife is 5'3" 115lbs. With that being said, it is still comfortable, we just wish it wasnt quite as firm. We have had it for 5 months now and the construction seems fine. Pleased overall with price and quality, but its definitely no SleepNumber bed.
