I enjoyed this book very much. I did wonder why it had the title and you find out right at the end. A gripping story and a good read for anyone.

A typical Catherine Cookson book a good story worth reading not disappointing in any way I always like her books

Very good.

Excellent, goes into more detail than the film. Get more feeling of the horrers of the 1st ww, and the social divide of the times.
