PCSL BT Master to RJ45 Cable Kit - 1M Cable with BT Adapter

I was bemoaning the lack of BT sockets in the house compared to the Cat 6 RJ45 data sockets that had been installed during a house re-wire. The RJ45 sockets were only being used for connecting television equipment to and sometimes the odd PC if the wireless signal wasn't good. It struck me (in non-technical terms) that if I could connect the telephone outlet to the where the RJ45 cables were run too (patch panel) and find an adaptor at the wall socket end to plug the phone into then I might overcome this problem. This cable plugged from the nearby BT socket (which had a broadband filter in it) to the `patch panel'. The BT Master line adaptor unit was inserted at the remote RJ45 end for connecting the phone. This worked really well. Using a two or three way splitter, I could purchase a couple more and `liven' up the RJ45 outlets for phones. Recommended if you have RJ45 outlets around the house and a telephone socket near the 'patch panel'.

Used this to move my broadband fibre router from next to my BT master socket to my mini hub cabinet in the loft via structured cat5e cable. Works perfecty with no drop in speed. It also means my ADSL filter is now also in the loft, so I have just ordered another so I can then place my phone next to another structured socket elsewhere. I can confirm the second one also worked, very pleased.

Would have been useful if the telephone adapter end hadn’t been faulty. Fortunately the customer had an odd one spare.

Definitely worth buying these instead of single cables as they are wired to match at either end of the ethernet link. Well done PC supplies for thinking about the problems the less technical end user faces.
