Works Great with Home Assistant
I love this thing. Works great with Home Assistant, Hassio with zwave stick on raspberry pi.I have it set up to turn on the flood lights when my garage opens and before I get home at night. Turns off automatically when the door closes unless my inside garage light is on, so it will stay on if I'm snowblowing the driveway unlike my old dumb motion sensor which kept turning off when I got out of range.I also use the light sensor in my automations for turning on my lights when it's dark, like when my garage opens after work, if it's dark turn on my living room and entry lights. VERY USEFUL!! I'd imagine this will also turn on the lights when a severe storm comes through and it gets dark, but we haven't had that yet.I don't use the motion sensor for any automations, but it would be easy to do if you wanted. Could be fun on Halloween. I don't really understand the different values returned, usually it's just 8.It's a great device, was very easy to install anyone with even basic knowledge should be able to do it.My suggestions for improvement would be:* Greater range for the light sensor, it's pretty much on or off. Still nice, but when it's getting dark the sensor still reports full brightness until it's dark then it quickly goes to 0.* Ability to disable flood lights. You can turn the lights on or off, which is great, but would be nice to have an option to disable them from coming on automatically.* Not sure why they don't just include a fixture at this price point. Perhaps another option for a few extra bucks?* Cheaper. Of course would be nice to see this for a lower price, but it's totally worth it at the current one. Thanks for one of my favorite smart home devices.Buy this, you'll be glad you did.

Easy upgrade for better control of your external Security lighting.
Been using Smartthings for a while now and Ages ago my motion light in my back yard died. So Combine this with a nice BRIGHT LED security light and bingo Back Yard is now lit up. I like how I can tag this with Smartthings and control multiple lights at one time. Very handy. What I do like is not having to do the dance in front of this light for it to come on.Install was easy just had to manually add the device handler which is really easy its a copy and paste at Smartthings back end. Then turn on the light wait a few minutes then add it to your SmartThings and bingo you have control of your external lighting. I will be adding at least 1 more light to the back of my house now that I know its this easy :) But Thrilled that this solution makes it easy to turn the lights on and keep them on. Going to experiment with some of the Device Handlers out there that offer a few tweaks .. Love home automation.

Works with vera, but additional steps needed.
Works great as a motion sensor with vera, but there are additional steps needed to get it to install as a motion sensor because when when it is first added to vera, it installs as two devices: an generic on/off switch and also a lux meter. You will manually need to change the device type from an on/off switch to a motion sensor. To do this:Once added to vera, go to devices, select the on/off device, go to advanced, and change the:Device type to: urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:MotionSensor:1Device file to: D_MotionSensor1.xmlDevice_json to: D_MotionSensor1.jsonCategory_num to: 4Subcategory_num to: 3Next, reload the Luup engine: Go to Settings, then Z-Wave Settings, then Advanced, then Reload Engine. When the LUUP engine finishes, do a web browser refresh on your computer. You should now see a motion detector icon and the options in scene creation should be correct. It is important to note that while this device has a wire to feed a light bulb directly (so that when motion is detected the light turns on) the light only stays on for a few seconds. It is also important to note that once this device is connected to any z-wave hub the time adjustment knob on the back no longer functions, so you won't be able to adjust how long the light is on for. This wasn't a problem for me because I had an extra Aeotec Nano lying around and used the motion sensor as a trigger to turn the nano on, and from there I was able to program how long I would like the light to stay on. If you want to get super fancy, the Countdown Timer app in the vera apps tab lets you do some custom time settings. All that said, I everything is working very well and I thought I would save others the hassle of doing the research I did. I'm running UI7, FW version 1.7.4001I give it 4 stars because it does work well. While their sales team states it works with vera, it looses a star for the extra steps for setup and for the fact that once connected to vera, the time adjustment on the back of the unit is disabled, ultimately requiring an additional device to turn a light on for more than just a few seconds.Cheers.

It's a good, medium quality motion sensor that works most of the time.
Like I said, it's medium quality and works most of the time. Where It fails me is when it is very cold or very humid out. The relay inside must be cheaply made because it will freeze up and not move in the dead of winter. Or always stay on during a humid summer night. Unfortunately it's hard to find a Zwave motion detector so I will work with what I've got.

Excellent Z Wave Product!
I love Homeseer products and this is no different. Fast pairing, easy setup, excellent quality and fast operation. I have two of these, one for the backyard and one for the front yard. Both are extremely responsive and I appreciate the ability to use these as triggers in my smart home setup. They are solidly constructed and I have no issues so far. One has been installed for 6+ months and still looks and operates perfectly fine. The other one I just bought, but I have no worries about it failing. Shows up as a luminance and motion sensor, and as a switch, so it can be operated separately from the motion sensor. Used with Smartthings and HomeSeer HS3 with no issues.

Setup was a breeze in Home Assistant
Setup was a breeze in Home Assistant. I'll definitely be picking up another of these in the near future. An excellent addition to my home automation system.
