Hantek6022BE PC USB 2CH Digital Oscilloscope 20MHZ Bandwidth 48 m SA/1 m WOSONTEL BNC Probe

I was a little hesitant in ordering this scope but after downloading the software from Hantek website and getting familiar with the product I decided to give it a go. I ordered it on the 5th July and it arrived on the 10th July, from HK! At first I couldn't get my PC to accept the USB driver but Hantek website had Win8 drivers. Now it works fine although the display has lock up a couple of times but not enough to be a problemThe display is clear and the refresh and trigger works well. So far I've only looked at the calibration signals and some audio output but I have to say I'm impressed. I will update this review after I've used it for a few days.One think that I can't work out is why the USB lead has a red connector as it only needs the black one to work. HANTEK6022BE is somewhat quirky; several reviews complain about the trigger system and say it makes it useless. Not true. The trigger is indeed quirky but can very easily be worked around because this is a digital oscilloscope. On some settings it grabs copious screens worth of data (164 in 16MS/S case). But the trigger point is always somewhere in the data captured; you can easily find your data in those screens by zooming out, centre, and then zoom in again. Be your own trigger point aligner. Lots of data is a brilliant feature in fact. For those on an extremely tight budget that need/want a dual channel oscilloscope 20 MHz or less, this can be the one.

This 6022BE scope is just amazing for $60. And I had no problem installing the user interface software and drivers from the CD on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit computer. Everything works so well out of the box that I have not bothered to check the Hantek website for the latest updates, though I will eventually do so. For other Windows 7 (and later) users, be aware that, while the Hantek drivers that ship with the scope work fine once they are installed, the installer appears to be a Windows XP or Windows 2000 installer and has the usual incompatibility issues when installing on Windows 7 and later. My Win 7 Pro OS failed to detect the drivers even when I manually pointed the install wizard to the driver folder. But as always, the simple fix is then to uninstall the drivers from the device manager, and then reinsert the device's usb cable, whereupon Windows 7 immediately detects and installs the drivers correctly, and the device shows up correctly in the device manager.

The product was well packed and no issues were found on delivery. Since I don't have a CD drive I used the download link provided by Hantek. The SW installation was easy. I only had issue with the driver installation, which didn't work as described in the manual. Just using Windows Device Manager I was able to install the driver easily. After the installation you need to calibrate the probes. Both of them, which is not clear from the user manual. The ocilloscope works fine and for my purposes (audio circuits) is more than aduquate. Great value.

I teach introductory electronics in a college program. At the beginning of the Pandemic, we evaluated a number of USB oscilloscopes to put in a 'take home kit' to loan to our students to use at home to complete their electronics labs, when they couldn't come to lab. Of the three sub-$200 scopes we looked at, this one was the most useful overall, with the closest 'feel' to a classic bench-top scope. Plus, it had the lowest price - very important when you need 200 of them!The scope 'box' and probes and USB leads all appear sturdy and decently made, and survived well in the hands of 1st year engineering technicians. The software is finicky to install (go to the Hantek website for the latest versions, and drivers) but we developed a strict procedure and our students generally had no problems. The lower sample rate means that 10 MHz is about the practical upper limit for this scope - but lots of electronics runs in that range! If you need higher frequencies, buy one of the more expensive and capable Hantek scopes. Hantek started out making automotive system analysers, and that is still their strength - but their more expensive oscilloscopes are excellent. The 6022 BE is the baby of their line and, really, a 'loss-leader' at the price.Three years on, we no longer have to loan these to with our students, unless they get sick - but many of our students are buying them for their home workshops.I'd recommend this little scope to any first year electronics student, college or university, any electronics or Arduino tinkerer who wants a 'first oscilloscope', and any radio control or model railroad DCC enthusiast. If you work in higher frequencies, then you'll need a more capable, and expensive, Hantek than this one.
