Something all violinists should keep in their case
I got one of these with a violin I purchased, and it is very handy. Having tuning notes readily available no matter where you are with no electricity, internet, or piano required is nice. My son will be doing violin in school this year, so I bought him one. I highly recommend keeping one of these in your case if you play violin. The only problem is I am not sure how in tune the notes are on the tuner. It is good enough to get the general note, but it's not perfect. You would still want to tune your violin to other instruments you are playing with if you were playing with an ensemble.

Really good violin tuner
I have had one of these for over 30 years now. Then, I lost it. I ordered this, and it is the exact same as the one I've had for 30 years. Classic violin tuner. Wish it was cheaper.

Instructions would be helpful
I was piano major who, now in my 60's, is just beginning violin. I do have a good relative pitch, but wanted some reassurance other than my piano. I chose this pitch pipes. The quality seems very good. I first wanted to return it, however as the A was an A flat. After researching a bit I learned that you need to control how hard you blow. I figured out to blow in a "flute" like Manor to get pitch right. I do not think a novice would do well with is instrument. Some sort of instruction may have been helpful to explain the different variances ( i. e. Air pressure, direction of blowing, dust, etc. )

A great addition
I have been using a tuning fork- it works, but it is much easier to have a set of all four of the G-D-A-E notes. A great improvement over the tuning fork!

way out of tune
I don't have a lot of experience with pitch pipes so maybe this is a universal problem, but the pitch changes a lot. The D, as others have said, is just flat. The others I can get accurate on my tuner if I blow them right and warm it up, but I'm not sure how I will know it's accurate or not when I don't have my tuner, which is the point.I'd go with a tuning fork next time.

It works well enough.
I compared it with my electric piano and later with my chromatic tuner app and the pitch is a little bit off, but if I didn't have either of these other two ways of tuning, I would be satisfied that the sound is close enough for tunnel work.

Pitch Pipe
It performs exactly as I expected it to. I even tested it against an electronic tuner to make sure both were working properly. I love it! I can just stick it in my pocket and use as necessary....no batteries, no fuss, no muss! Thank you for carrying and delivering such quality goods.

It works
This worked pretty well for me. The D pipe on mine seemed a little distorted in sound, but as I am not formally musically trained, I cannot accurately gauge whether it was my inexperience thinking it was. Overall, a good product that served its purpose.
