Propper Men's Ripstop BDU Uniform Pant

I am not military but understand this is a standard issue brand for BDU items. It is a fantastic work pant for working in the brushy back area in our Texas prairie yard. Even with Wrangler jeans I inevitably get bites on my legs from fire ants and other bugs crawling up my legs when working in the brushy areas. The cuff ties are great for keeping those pests out. Plus the pants are tough (rip stop?) yet lightweight and far more breathable than jeans. Of course there are cargo pockets and all pockets are very roomy. Reinforced knees. Pull tab thin web waist tighteners, button and sturdy zipper fly. These seem a great value of top quality for a reasonable price as a work pant compared to most jeans and Wrangler Riggs or Carhartt pants. Normally wear 38-40 waist jeans and the XL was a great fit with plenty of room in the legs than aid breathability. If you don’t need the pants cuff ties just cut them off. These Proppers are my new favorite Texas hot weather work pants.

I would just like to let everyone know that I used these pants for multiple things. I did costumes with them, for emt courses, outdoor work (mud, dirt, water), and everyday wear. The pair on the right are the first pair of these BDUs that I purchased almost 4 years ago. They are still almost new looking even with the daily wear and tear. These are not only the most comfortable pants in the world but they were definitely worth the money! Pros- They are resilient I have tromped through mud in these, crawled on the ground, walked through water, and walked thousands of miles in them. They are made tough and they clean very easily! Sizing- I ordered a medium. I am only 5’1, 168lbs, I have 44” hips and 34” waist and I have thick thighs. I was concerned that they may not fit where I needed them to. I was wrong these fit perfect, the waist is adjustable and the length didn’t need to be modified. Not only a perfect fit but they are so unbelievably comfortable for what they are. Cons- Now everything in this life has at least one con. The one thing I didn’t like about these is that the front buttons after a couple weeks of wear, billow out. They are no longer flat to the body from sitting down etc. The shipping has been amazing both times. I have received both pairs in a couple of days from ordering. I would highly recommend buying these not only for job purposes but for any rough fun you may have. I am in love with these and I hope many of you get good use out of them too.

The material seems regular enough. A bit on the heavy side for our South Florida warm weather, but not winter heavy. The stitching is good. The pockets are large and roomy. The zipper is not a smooth high quality one as I already had issues with it binding up a bit. Not broken. Just rough. The fit is good around the waist. I am a 36 waist and bought the LARGE and they seem to fit well without having to use the cinching straps. They do run long. The description says 29 to 32 inch inseam in one location and then in another location says 34 inches. I’m a 30 inch so I will have to have these hemmed as they are closer to 34inch inseam in my opinion.

So far so good. I took a tailor’s rule and measured to ensure proper fit. Fabric quality is good. They seem durable. Had to take a lighter to the tagged threads in places as is typical with BDUs. Doing so left it inspection ready. Size is true. Pockets are pretty awesome. The weight is about midway between the heavier BDU trousers and the Rothco trousers. Definitely can not see through the fabric when holding it up to the light like you can with the Rothco ones. Fairly comfortable for winter wear and should be fairly comfortable for summer as well. These were cheaper than the Rothco ones and I feel that the value for the price is right where it should be. Time will tell if that remains the case. All in all, at the moment I am happy with this purchase and will likely buy more pairs as time goes on.

This will work good for now. It’s is definitely not the exact same ones that would have been used in the military, but the details are hard real notice so it’s fine. They are comfortable and I love that you can adjust the waist (that was not on the real pants). All around, these will do very well until I get an original.

I'm a female (6 ft, 165 lbs) and already own the Uniform Poly/Cotton Ripstop BDU Pants in S Long, purchased in 2023 (Item # F525025001L3). For some reason the men's fit is better than the women's for me, but my current pair is a touchhhh small in the waist so I wanted to try a size medium instead. Propper's shipping wouldn't arrive in time so I decided to look on Amazon and found these as the closest match (Item #: F525025001M3). However, I was disappointed to find that these M Longs fit just about the same as my S Long in the waist, but were even more awkwardly high waisted. The length of material from the top of the waist down to the crotch was just mind boggling. I guess for guys it might be fine, but I was surprised since I already own a pair that works great and just wanted to try a size up. The length and rest of the pants were as expected though, so I guess my TLDR is to size up one and be prepared for a SUPER high waisted fit.

Keep in mind that these are entry level Propper trousers hence the price. The higher quality version is about 2X the price. You can check them out on the Propper website. These are 60% cotton and 40% polyester. When I wear them, I feel like I'm wearing splash pants. The higher quality version is Battle Rip® 65% polyester / 35% cotton ripstop and very comfortable. The higher quality version also is all reinforced and has much better stitching. These ones are 'ok' but I would not purchase again. I would spend the extra money and buy a better pair. I have other Propper trousers that are 5 years old and still in decent condition and I wear them all the time. I don't think these ones will last. I guess they would be ok for casual wear maybe playing paintball or something. The sizing was accurate if that helps.

Excelente producto, Propper como siempre tienen muy buena calidad. Compre el camuflaje "Tiger Stripe" y estoy contento, los colores tienen buena saturación.

The material is tough, but light and dries quickly. Sizing was spot on and the side adjusters help keep everything fitting properly.
