If Kisses Were Colors board book

This book is very sweet, and I love the rhyming in it.

I got this for my first mother's day from my husband and it's very cute. Sweet drawings, the text rhymes well. I added it to the board book collection of our 8 month old and occasionally read it to her but so far she isn't overly interested in it - hopefully that changes in the future. I highly recommend this as a gift for mother's day, birthdays, or to a freshly baked mother.

This is a sweet book. I didn't realize it would be about babies. I was hoping for an older child as the story progressed as this purchase was for a two-year-old boy. But the baby is only featured at the beginning and the end and the book is mostly dominated by animals. My son certainly didn't seem to mind and was fascinated by all the animals and illustrations, including the baby! I admit, I purchased it for Alison Jay's illustrations as I find her work whimsical. All in all, a good read.

And I am a little surprised about that because he's very much a smash up cars, trucks, big wheels, type of kid. When I read it to him the first time there was complete silence. Very unusual for my boy!!! Then we read it again, and again. We looked at the pictures as we went, he was asking questions, wanted to know what the acorn was, and the comet. Then after we had read it again, he took the book to his father and "read" him the story. The illustrations are just beautiful.

I buy this book to give as baby shower gifts. I read it to my boys when they were young and it is such a sweet little way to remind littles how much they are loved.

This is just an ode to babies and kissable feet, isn't it? It's full of poetic descriptions of what the world would be like if kisses were something else - and how you could *see* how many there are, because parents don't just stop kissing and loving their kids.Beautiful artwork (well, of course, it's Alison Jay!), and a sweet story. I easily recommend it as a new-baby present, or a first birthday gift for your own kiddo.

I love this book and the illustrations are really works of art. My 14 mo old son is not so interested in the book yet but I think he will be later on once he understands more. The words of this book are really touching too and would let a child know how valued and special they are.

If Kisses Were Colors is a beautifully written, beautifully illustrated book to share with the child in your life. It is a book about the boundless love between and parent and child, using comparisons with infinite things like the colors in a rainbow and pebbles on a beach. It is a great book to read while cuddling with your special little one. One of our favorites.

Lovely book such a sweet story

I love Alison Jay, but returned this book. I found the concept of this particular edition of small size quite strange - the book is done like the envelope to post. However the story and pictures are lovely as usual
