A mere three months after the release of the Made in Japan audio-visual live package, Whitesnake are back with another amazing live album which covers on the first CD, the 2011 UK tour and on the second CD, recordings from all over the world. The tracklisting includes all the classic songs from Whitesnake that fans love: Is This Love , Ain t No Love In The Heart Of The City , Fool For Your Loving , Here I Go Again and Still Of The Night along with rare cuts, Deep Purple classics and newer songs taken from the most recent releases Forevermore and Good To Be Bad .

Outstanding album, aptly titled... record setting rocking show!!!
Whitesnake has taken a sort of unique route in the new century. Not necessarily remaking hits after hits compilations or releasing "greatest hits" live albums, but providing us with fresh studio recordings every 4-5 years that, while not matching the outstanding melodic prowess of their 80s output, still are solid albums to enjoy time after time. Unfortunately, their albums have not matched, say, Bon Jovi's level of success in the past 15 years, so instead of offering box-office record-shattering tours every couple of years, they have successful runs on a smaller scale and capture it on outstanding live albums that never cease to surprise.Made in Britain/The World Record is yet another live album from Whitesnake but at the same time it has a fresh quality that makes any naysayer have to stop and listen. Of course Still of the Night and Here I go Again and Is This Love are here... but not only the recording is definitely taking advantage of the most modern technology, the performance is a furious and inspired as if this was the first tour with those songs on the setlist. What makes this album valuable is not those hits alone, but the inclusion of minor hits that normally don't appear on other live albums, as The Deeper the Love and Burn/Strombringer (recently available on the Good To Be Bad Special Edition's Disc Two). Also, worth mentioning, a great 8 minute take on Ain't No Love In The Heart of the City. Granted, the Made In Britain disc (Disc one, track 1-13) is an almost identical reproduction of the Made In Japan track listing, but again, for any Whitesnake fan (and you'd have to be to be reading this) the fresh take that those virtuoso guitar players and rhythm section give to the songs make it a unique experience well worth the price.

"Sounds" GREAT to me! These guys stilll ROCK!!
Hey all--I admit, I am a THRASH METAL girl at heart (love Overkill, Testament et al) BUT sometimes in the summer I like a little "hair metal", and Whitesnake is about the best and most talented of the bunch. I have the classic studio stuff but not a live album, so thought I'd give this a try just based on the tempting preview samples! After hearing the whole thing, WOW! Especially side 1!! I can do without "Is This Love", BUT the rest of it rocks HARD---tracks 5 through 8 in particular---the SOUND is aggressive, crunchy, and mops the floor with most bands out there today. David Coverdale's vocals may not be "perfect" as he was in 1987, but give him a break - he still kicks butt for being 60-something. All this hyper-criticism of the "sound"... I don't get it! If you want a great FUN live album to rock out to on a long and boring commute to work, you'll love this - it's been on the car stereo for a week and probably will stay there (till the new Overkill release comes out next month anyway, ha ha!) Enjoy it!

Performance 5 stars, CD Mixing 2 stars
I am a big Whitesnake fan. I ordered the CD from Amazon before it went on sale. I was hoping the sound of the CD would be better than Whitesnake's previous live CD "Made in Japan". However, I am very disappointed! The bass sound of the CD is so loud that it over-shadowed the vocals and the guitar sound. The mixing and the production of the CD sound is so bad. Similar to Whtesnake's "Made in Japan", I will most likely listen to it once or twice and put it aside. Mr. Coverdale, please have someone else to produce your record next time.

Its ok
Whitesnake has recently put out 3 live cd's in the last 2 years....Each has it's great parts, but not enough to make a great cd...Whitesnake has so many great songs, but they only focus on a few, and forget the rest...Since they decided to put out so many live cd's in the last 2 years I wonder why other great snake tunes were never put on to some of these discs instead of repeating basically the same tunes....This cd just did not measure up.....

Stunning and Loud
This live double CD has everything a fan could want, classic Snake and new Snake. The energy of the band comes pounding through the speakers and never lets up. This is one of the best live albums in many years. If you can't make it to a live Whitesnake concert, this is a fantastic substitute. So, put out your hand and enjoy the bite!

Whitesnake live kicks ass
Made In Britain/The World Record is a fantastic kick ass live album by Mr Coverdale and his band of very talented musicians. Do you like great old fashion guitar playing? Then look no farther then this album. A fantastic companion to their Made In Japan release. Want you butt kicked? Buy this album.

GOOD JUST FOR FANS
Same music, different venue (made in Japan), I wish just one show well recorded, not a mixed jam show, that's it!

HERE WE GO AGAIN...
In the twilight of his career,Coverdale has produced the goods again,i've had this(on repeated play) since the day of release, its a belter. If you liked 'Live In Japan',then you'll absolutely love this!!.2 discs worth of live 'Snake,in glorious sound, production is excellent and the vocals are to,(the occasional screech not withstanding),disc 1 recorded on the UK 2011 tour,no venues listed per track although Newcastle get a mention during proceedings.Replicating the majority of the audio from 'Live In Japan' you may be put off, dont be,this is top notch performances ,cherry picked beautifully,EVERY track is superb,a hearty 5 stars.Disc 2 shorter at approx 50 mins or so,is from the Eurpean tour supporting the Forevermore disc,so its great that there is only 1 track duplicated with disc 1,again it wonderfully produced and a few acoustic performances thrown in,magnificent, wish he'd called it 'Made In Europe, that might have ruffled a few feathers,ha ha.,again 5 stars all the way. This is as close to the definitive 'live ' disc for modern 'Snake,so hopefully he can concentrate on another studio disc, maybe even find time to release a few archive live albums individually rather than expensive box sets, just a thought.Anyway if you were hesitant about buying,no need its excellent.
