The media could not be loaded. This book is amazing. The more I read each chapter the book comes life on my journey to point had take few breaks reading it . It has help me understand everything that going on in spiritual world. This book taught me how protect myself from people who trying steal my gift, power which they called power thieves . This second book has come life as reading it . That how powerful this book is .

I am one who walks a hard path - things are flung at me so that I have to figure out what they are and how to deal with them, and then once I have it figured out by wading through all kinds of new age crap and fluff and relying heavily on trial and error, upsetting the people around me (in both realms), with a lot of whining and sniveling thrown in for good measure, I find a book that could have explained it properly in the first place. This is one such book.Much of what is written as guidelines very closely matches my own experience. The author's methods are much more graceful than the things I have come up with on my own, and so her book has helped me to polish the rough edges of my experience without jarring against my common sense or world view. I am very grateful for that.The meditations to meet and heal the ancestral line are amazing. My experience with using them was very powerful indeed, and I am very grateful to have had such clear and effective instructions to use as a guideline for my own family. There is something quite awesome about calling on your ancestors and feeling the connection to your spirit family. It gets even more awesome when something that has been festering in the collective family memory is released and healed.There is a wealth of knowledge buried in some of the most simple statements in this book - the psychic protection of crossing yourself, as an example, if you've ever wondered what the Real reason is for genuflection. It is clear to me as the reader that the author has not only personal experience with her topic, but also formal learning in place to back up her experience. In this way the book has helped me close gaps that I have been aware of but unable to understand. There is no substitute for genuine knowledge.That should be very reassuring to anybody who has ever been taken in by less than genuine practices, or unknowingly tried an incomplete method and been hurt as much as healed because of it. Healing is bound to be a little easier to do with a book such as this one in your hand. In my subjective opinion.

This is a wonderful book. I would call it a very practical guide to life, particularly all those things you needed to learn, but didn't know you did. Working with this book will enable you to see human interactions through new eyes. If you are a shamanic practitioner or practice Tai Ji, QiGong, or do any type of hands on healing work, this book will have a more concrete feel for you. The ceremonies are direct and speak to the heart. I like that she covers just about every realm of human interaction. This is the type of work that will fit into any belief system or spiritual practice. Enjoy!

I found this book full of wisdom and the author takes time and care to explain the WHY aspect of psychic disturbances. Once we understand the WHY, we will be more grounded and we will trust our natural ability to protect ourselves. More than a book with a list of rituals (in which there are many that address common disturbances); this book is very insightful and takes a deeper look at our psychic unease. It is effectively organized and easy to read as well.

"Psychic Shield" contains a comprehensive collection of practices, meditations, and rituals to develop and maintain one's defense of their spiritual energy. Matthews covers just about every angle you can think of, from toxic romantic relationships to family troubles, to stress at work, to hauntings, and so on. The layout of the book makes it easy to find whatever you are looking for.My criticism is that the tone is very New Age (i.e. embracing monism and self-help lingo). As a pagan that leans towards heathenry, there were several parts of the "Psychic Shield" left me rolling my eyes.Still, the general premise of the book, that the present day Western worldview leaves it's inhabitants wholly unprepared for dealing with psychic disturbance, is definitely something I can agree with.But once you grasp the basics, you probably want to modify procedures to better fit your spiritual orientation (if you aren't a New Age type).

Everyone shoud read. Whether you practice esoteric modalities or not!

I haven't finished the book yet, but I already know how to protect myself in other ways. I find it slow to read and kind of dull. Others could use this book and get lots of information out of it, but for me, I might be more advanced for this book.

This book is an excellent guide for anyone, really, but most of all for sensitive folks. It gives lots of info on how to build boundaries and protect yourself from spiritual and psychological attacks. It helps you understand what's going on energetically and how to empower yourself and strengthen yourself. I recommend it!

This is an incredibly useful book -- both erudite and practical, obviously based on a huge amount of experience and research. It's also beautifully written.

The book is amazing , shame no one mentions it's a reprint of 'the psychic protection handbook'.Firstly, this is acyoslly a fantastic, down to earth and easily understood guide fir dealing with the energy flow between us and the universe. Buy it.Now for my real issue. I already have this book!!!! It's just a reprint of 'the psychic protection handbook' The fact that Amazon are suggesting you buy both if these together is misleading!!!! Sort it out.

Caitlin Matthews is very experienced in western magic and in the celtic tradition. Here she distills a lifetime of knowledge in a book which, though on the surface is about psychic self defence, is actually a complete, pragmatic and ethical spiritual practice system.
