Came well packaged, healthy roots, in the garden now. Update: prolific growth.
Came very well packaged with only minimal tattering of the leaves as seen in the pictures. It is already planted in the garden. Its trunk has blackened which I beleive is just because of the sun. Ants have started to put aphids on it, but after a few times of removing them, I cannot find them which is a good sign. New growth is starting. 4 stars because for 5 it has to be able to last the winter snow, which I was told it will. If it does/or does not, I will post pictures and change my overall rating. So far I am very happy with my purchase. This was the most expensive single-plant purchase I have ever bought and expect a good investment given what I have experienced so far with customer service and plant-care. Came with a package of slow-release fertilizer as well.Update: 6/28/2022: This has been by far the best investment I have ever purchased. The Asian pears are smaller than usual you get at the market but just as delicious if not more so! I tried to upload a big picture of the now very big tree but it exceeded the file size. The plant survived the first winter beautifully and bloomed such that I could yield 70+ delicious Asian pears (2020). During 2021 I also was able to obtain another 70+ delicious Asian pears. Now it is 2022, the plant is much bigger, probably 15-20 feet tall, and about 10 to 12 feet wide. I had to use steel stakes to hold it up because the fruit is so heavy for the trunk and they weigh a ton. I am looking to yield ~150-200 delicious Asian pears this season 2022. The reason this is so good is because in my climate (Zone 5b-8a) it grows prolifically.

Broken and dried out tree
The tree came broken and dried out. We planted it and did all we can to save it. Sadly fall set in before we could tell if we were successful. If the tree survives, I will increase my rating.
