My mining MB only has 1 PCIe x16 slots and 18 PCIe x1 slots (yup) and I needed another x16 slot to add a SAS controller. (No PCIex1 SAS controllers exist- only SATA). Worked perfect! As shown with my ancient graphics card everything worked great. Limitations - Due to alignment you must add a spacer of some type (used a plastic wall anchor) as shown. I did not see any lack of performance from graphics, but based on the card you can see not used for gaming. Use that for 2 DP output and 1 or 2 or the 4 DP ports got blocked by the placement of the card in the slot, but not a problem for me. SAS drives run pretty fast too. Trashy but works!

Bought a Chinese special mobo+cpu+ram combo, totally overlooked that it only had 1 pcie 16x and a 1x... Used this adapter for a low end video card for the headless OS install. Worked perfectly, and is super cheap compared to competitors.

Trattasi di un semplice adattatore PCIe da X1 a X16. Avevo la necessità di utilizzare una scheda RAID con connettore PCIe X8, e avevo esaurito gli slot X8 e X16 liberi sulla motherboard. Rimaneva libero un solo slot PCIe X1, che ho potuto utilizzare grazie a quest'adattatore. Questo è un semplice adattatore, meccanico (quindi non richiede software supplmentare), che permette di inserire una scheda PCIe X16 in uno slot X1. Ovviamente la larghezza di banda sarà ridotta a quella disponibile sugli slot X1. Data la geometria, l'adattatore non è comunque stabile all'interno dello slot, e anche la scheda inserita non si adatta più agli ancoraggi pre-esistenti, cambiando l'ingombro sia in larghezza che in altezza, per cui andrà fissata in qualche modo, anche con ancoraggi posticci come fascette, elastici, etc.; utile per configurazioni provvisorie. Nel complesso ha fatto il proprio mestiere.
