It is an obsolete NAS. Don't buy.
I purchased wd my cloud ex2 ultra 8 GB. It is an obsolete NAS and of no use in today's world. All the information on Google is prior to 2017 and the apps that were supported in 2016 are not supported now. If you want to save your ms windows files then it is ok. It does not support Milestone arcus app or any other surveillance app. You cannot connect any surveillance camera to this NAS. I contacted wd support and they informed that it is meant for windows and mac and they don't recommend connecting any surveillance device to it. So I find it a fossil equipment. Go for any other NAS with good software interface. The OS of this NAS is pathetic. Despite buying the NAS all the controls of My Cloud app for PC and mobile are with Western Digital. You can create an account but if you want to delete it for any reason you simply can't. For that you have to fill a form with WD and they take you for a ride. The customer support is mostly automated taking you round and round. Maybe they care only for large corporate buyers. As an individual buyer my experience has been very bad. After buying this NAS I found out that I don't control it but WD controls it. Conclusion is that it is an obsolete technology with poor OS and still poorer customer support.
