Used these bulbs to replace fluorescent tubes in some older fixtures in the garage and basement. These areas are somewhat to very cold and the old fluorescent lights take forever to come up to full brightness. Especially in the garage in the winter. These new bulbs come on to full brightness instantly. Since the fluorescent bulbs tend to dim over time, these new ones seem brighter. The fluorescent 40W are supposed to be 3000 lumens when new. The 32W "energy saving" version are rated at 2600Lm. These are 22W and 2400Lm, so you save 10W while receiving the same amount of light. The new LED claim a lifetime of 45,000 hrs. compared to 30,000 hrs. for the fluor. And they do not dim over time or have the nasty black bands on the ends when they get old. I cannot vouch for the longevity of the LED bulbs. If the claims are true, I'll be long dead before they burn out.These are "type B" Dual end powered ballast bypass bulbs, which means they need to be wired from both ends. Hot (black) wire to one end and neutral (white) to the other end using the existing wires once they are cut off of the ballast. Which can then be removed and recycled. Removing the ballast also eliminates the possibility that it will eventually fail which sometimes results in gooey tar like substance leaking out. (which may contain PCBs.) It is very easy to re-wire your fixture in this manner. This method of wiring also eliminates the need to change the tombstones to the un-shunted kind, as required for the 1 ended bypass style. This saves you around $3 per bulb.Many are confused by the different types of LED conversion bulbs. For type A, you just change the bulbs and leave the ballast in place. These bulbs cost more, and continuing to use the ballast may make them less efficient.Please read carefully and understand which kind of LED replacement tubes you are buying and if they require re-wiring your old fixtures, and what is the wiring process. This effort would eliminate almost all of the low ratings attached to some of these bulbs by people who didn't know what the were doing or how to do it. There are many videos on you tube, explaining the process for the various arrangements. I went around and around on this, and finally figured out that this is the easiest and cheapest way to convert my old 4' fluorescent tubes. I am very satisfied with the effort required, the cost, and the result.I had a concern that since the LED emitters are spread all around the bulb, that my old reflectors might not be shiny and clean enough (even after I scrubbed them) to properly reflect the up facing emitters' light towards the ground. These bulbs come with their own reflectors attached, so all you have to do is make sure they are on the top when you install the bulbs. The frosted plastic cover diffuses the light nicely.

Easy to install, cheaper, cheaper to run. I would recommend. These are double ended, so make sure they will work with your application.

Super bright, glad to be rid of the fluorescent bulbs, definitely will be converting my other shop lights. Not sure about longevity just installed but will see how they do with the change of seasons

The lights were easy to install. I had to remove the ballast and rewire the fixture but everything went smoothly. Once installed, we've had no issues. I haven't had them long enough to comment on longevity, but based on the reviews, I'm hopeful they'll outlast me in this home.

If your an electrician very easy to install if your not still easy as long as you understand what to do like the fact that you need to remove the balest from you light fixtures and rewire the light sockets to 110v neutral to one socket and hot to the other socket. If you do not understand this I recommend you hire a lecetrician.
