It worked seamlessly
Received before expectation in good packaging.Nikon original box (but not sealed) with "made in Japan" print.Plastic quality of both Wu-1a and it's holder (that can be fixed with camera strap) is very good. Strap is strong.Used it with Nikon D 5200.At first it once got disconnected. I switched off other one nearby hotspot and brought camera nearer to phone. Then it worked seamlessly.Download speed was 1.33 mbps to 2.5 mbps for my 2 gb RAM mobile phone. Most of the time it was near 2mbps.During trial I downloaded 33 jpeg (avg 3mb each) pics at first go and I'm fully satisfied with it's function.

Excellent Product On Go.
Superb product, works very promptly and instantly, between DSLR and Mobile or Tablet...i use both (one at a time). This is mainly excellent to send immediate pictures taken from DSLR via net to any social sites, even from RAW picture it coverts to send able images through smart product.Nice small thing to have on the go while trecking or a weekend to showcase your pictures at a whink. One star taken due to its limitation which i felt being a photographer,it can not transfer a RAW file suppose 1 picture (approx 26mb) to smart device in the same size,as i require them for post process later. It automatically reduce the picture size 2mb to 3mb max only leaving the option for net uploading.Hope you get my point.

Works great but not worth 3000+
I bought this on prime day for 389/- unbelievable price. And it works with DSLRDASHBOARD app (android). This is great addon for the DSLR. However its not worth 3000+ as it has always been priced. I purchased TPLINK Mr3040 portable router as an alternative to this before purchasing this. Now in prime day sale as it was dead cheap got one.Works good. But i suggest trying DSLRDASHBOARD app instead of the crappy Nikon app.

Not a good accessory
The hardware great but the app is not up to the mark. The app only allows you to take pictures wirelessly and view them or/and download them in their original size. While taking pictures your smartphone display becomes the live view and all you can do is take pictures. You can't access you're camera settings such as aperture, shutter speed or iso wirelessly. While the device is connected and your mobile is in the live view mode you can't even access the settings on your camera itself. The display of the camera turns black when the device is connected to your smartphone. You can't even video with camera while using this device. Yes you can see the pictures taken with your camera and even download them on your smartphone in their original size but you can't see or download videos taken with your camera earlier. I hope NIKON updates the app for the best output in the future firmware upgrades.

Anyways WU-1a is a nice device although it hangs out and there are chances ...
Very cute and effective. Responds Quickly, although did not try its full capabilities. This responds to only wi-fi and only a few mobile wi-fi apps are available on googleplay store. In my case only one worked, which can access my Nikon D3300 camera, operate its shutter and download the files to the mobile. But the app is unable to take HDD and time-lapse shots. I am looking for one. If anyone is aware, kindly post the name of the app. Anyways WU-1a is a nice device although it hangs out and there are chances of damage to both camera & the dongle.

Rubbish piece of junk!
It is actually worthless! I am using my it with my D3300 and it is a PAIN to transfer images from my camera to my phone. It takes FOREVER to load the PREVIEW images which you have to select from to start the process of file transfer! The file transfer process itself takes an inordinate amount of time. Remember, this is all happening through WiFi direct and so it is perplexing as to how it is so slow. If the connection gets disrupted even for a moment (and this happens very very frequently) you have to RESTART the whole process right from reloading the PREVIEW images!!Also, once you manage to download the pics, you realize that it is only a downsized jpeg image and not a full size jpeg image. Forget about downloading the RAW files! Also, the live view function rarely works on this!A better alternative is to buy an OTG card reader and connect it to your mobile to read your sd card directly. It is infinitely faster, reliable and less frustrating. On my last few trips, I could kill time in th hotel room or even dreary bus journeys on the Isle seat by loading files onto my phone using an OTG SD card reader and editing my photos on the go or even sharing them on social media. An IR remote and a time-lapse remote complete anything else you probably wanted to do with this piece of junk!Nikon has no clue as to what it needs to develop to remain competitive!

Good but has a few cons
This is a fantastic product for DSLR owners who want the convenience of transferring photos immediately to their phones.- this is very useful if you are a social media addict and want to upload your slr pics directly to the social networking sites..Con: the only con is that it used the live mode when one clicks pics using the smart phone as a remote. In the live mode, there's a little lag and photos don't come as sharp as they normally do.
