The boiler installer fit this in without me asking. In theory it sounds like a great item. The only thing is it only comes on when it is 0.4 degrees less than its upper temperature, and turns off when it is 0.4 degrees. meaning if i set it to 22 degrees, the boiler switches off when it reaches 22.4 degrees, and then comes on at 21.6. You don't have any manual override if say, you feel really cold and still want the heating on.

Works like a dream

This is the most user-unfriendly piece of electronic equipment I have ever come across and I used to build radar. The instructions for programming are incredibly difficult to understand and, at least for me, it took a while hacking about to realise that it has no manual setting control. What kind on nonsense thermometer doesn't let you set your own temperature? You set the thing to the manufacturers presets and that's what it does unless you override it. Good luck with that, too. Do not buy this unless you are setting the temperature for an office or something similar. For a home it is absolute rubbish. Oh yes, and changing the batteries... a nightmare. Everything about this thing is awful.

The boiler would ignore the control and kick in bringing the temperature over 25c to the point that in the end we had to turn the boiler to hot water only. The boiler seemed to override the controller. We have now been told to push button 17 which states temperature control and press the moon control and set the moon control to 12c. Then set the sun control to desired temp 20c. We have been told this will stop the boiler overriding the control. The house is still like a sauna so we have now been asked to call back the boiler installer. Not a great product, not easy to use and the manual is not helpful! Returned product.
