Celestron EclipSmart 8" Solar Safe Eclipse Telescope Filter – ISO Compliant

This product works well. It fits my CPC 800 perfectly. It come with Velcro tabs for safety backup but it fits very positively, snapping in place. The only negative is that it is a fairly thin film of plastic so keep the original box to keep it stored in. If you left it out it could be torn if miss treated. The box fits nicely. Viewing was fine.

The shipping was fast and the filter arrived undamaged. The filter was very easy to use and attached similar to the protective cover that comes with the telescope. The images produced from the filtered scope were very nice and I was happy with them for my first attempt at solar photography. If you have a Celestron telescope, this is one of the cheapest and easiest option that you can buy. I am sure you can make a filter out of film sheets, but this is an out of the box option that is ready to go and attaches easily.

Used this a couple of times now and has worked like charm. Had it going for around 4 hours for the eclipse and it felt safe on both of my cameras and lenses. We are using this on a celestron 8" and it does fit but there are no way to lock it on. Thankfully there are 4 sticky velcro and 2 velcro straps to hold it in place onto the telescope. If only we could find the original filter and dew cap. 😢 Bringing tape and foil with us incase if isn't totally blocking.

The first look through my scope with this filter on changed my life. I couldn't believe I was looking at the Sun close up like that. I could see all the sunspots and it was amazing. I highly recommend this for white light viewing of the sun. The picture was just from holding my phone over the eyepiece. I can't wait to use this for the upcoming solar eclipse in April 2024.

I haven’t observed the sun with it yet. Seems fine, no holes, delivery was on time etc. However the film is very loose and has wrinkles. Not sure how much this will affect the images but I’m sure it’s not going to help. The product seems fairly cheap and flimsy.

Fits my C8 perfectly, as expected. It's relatively fragile but I was aware of this before purchasing and am careful handling it as my eyes are at stake. Overall a great product at a good price arrived in time for the partial eclipse this year. One happy amateur astronomer

I knew that it probably wouldn't fit my Skywatcher 8" but I had to try as a could not get one specifically for my model. But of course it didnt fit. The build quality is really good and I like the velcro to secure it further. Though it is ridiculously expensive.

This is an excellent filter to use for looking at the sun. Make sure to follow the instructions included with the filter. But I was able to see sunspots on the sun. Just an incredible view, wish I had bought this earlier.
