Eye opener
The book has good scientific backing and is well written. Unlike the topic, the stratigies can be applied at any form of learning and at any phase of life. A must read for parents who are struggling to keep their children motivated to get an understanding of any academic subject and not just math and science. Would love to Chunk it again.

I CAN DO MATHS NOW! THANK YOU OAKLEY!
Well my story just like every other student struggling in mathematics from the start had to do with no consistency, overuse of my mental capacity and well fear. I didn’t know any learning techniques or science behind learning whatsoever. Although I followed the directions or advice given in the book understood working on brain while doing science and maths and well I’ve already completed some 5-6+ maths topics which btw are chapters in other books and are continuing to do more. This book has been tremendous help with strategies on how to actually do maths because strategies used with language subjects are very different and most of us were not taught how to learn, we were just told to do it all and figure it out and somehow score.Although it might take sometime but i assure you if you actually dedicate yourself to the ways given here and read slowly so you apply whatever is given in your life. You’ll see the results. Its takes slow efforts but is very real!

This book made me love MATH!
A mind for numbers. Why this book is great for those afraid of math: -• The advice is concise and to the point.• The tips do work amazingly, and I can confirm from experience.• It will provide a new and efficient way of learning math.• It explains how even a noob can excel at math.• It breaks age old myths around studying.• It provides a better and efficient strategy for studying math. This book literally made me fall in love with math. Math is the subject which caused a great deal of discomfort to me, that even the thought of it gave me headaches. I was afraid of doing math. The math textbook scared me more than any of the ghost stories or horror movies. I decided to change that but didn't know how. So, I picked up this book. The book does work wonders. The title may suggest that it only talks about math, but it discusses about learning in general, but with a bit more emphasis on Math. I can say that this book does work if you apply the principles mentioned. This talks about how your present way of learning may prove detrimental to your memory and your studies. It also talks about various hurdles faced by students and gives excellent advice on how to overcome them. There are quite a few memorization techniques described that'll help you learn formulas and make your concentration much better. It proves why doing less is more when it comes to math and studying in general. The advice given very is actionable and can be implemented right after you finish the book. The study techniques are backed by research and you experience the changes in your learning routine if you apply the principles given. They are not that hard to implement and don't take much time or effort on your side either. The chapters are to the point and there are no filler pages, it doesn’t drag at all. This book does help you become a better student. It breaks various myths around studying and describes the most efficient way of studying. If you're afraid of doing math and always hated it as a kid, this book can be a life saver. This is the kind of book you wish you’d had read as a kid.

Overall an okay read at best
“Process, Not Product If you find yourself avoiding certain tasks because they make you uncomfortable, there is a great way to reframe things: Learn to focus on process, not product”― Barbara Oakley, A Mind for Numbers: How to Excel at Math and ScienceThe purpose of this book is to provide a reading guide or a productivity mantra that can help students improve the quality of their learning. While this book does focus on science in particular, the learning mechanisms can be applied to any subject in any field. It is rather interesting and introduced a few new concepts; however, after reading the entire book, there are about 5-10 concepts that one can gain an understanding of. It is repetitive (which I'm sure was a method to drill the idea into the reader) and not exactly a page-turner. Take your time with this book and treat it as it was meant to be - a study guide and nothing more.

Absolutely must read not just for students but also for Parents
This book is absolutely MUST READ not just for students but also for Parents, not just for students in colleges or universities but also right from primary school as well, because the methods in this book are so deeply ingrained that they etch & shape the students lives for better not just in STEM or Maths & Science, but also in every aspect of life as well.

A useful book
Although I read many self improvement book but I can rarely apply all the ideas of that book but this book present ideas in a doable way. I noticed how I highlighted my notes and books and after I read a particular line of this book I minimised my highlights. It present logical reasoning to many of the points and it would be a good books for students preparing for competitive exam. But I had some problems not particularly from the book but some contrasting ideas, and the author talked about how she was influenced by Cal Newport ,she tells us to use pomodoro but cal idea of deep work with extended time contrasts it’s ideas. But over all the book was helpful

Importante ferramenta de melhorar as técnicas de aprendizado
Acredito que conheci o livro pelo mesmo modo que a maioria, que foi através do curso "Learning How To Learn" no Coursera.

excellent read, reduce time studying and improve comprehension
Im only half way through this book and my math classes are easier. There are specific strategies that one needs to apply in order to effectively learn math. The way we are taught in school through endless repetition and rote memorization is exhausting and ineffective. Let this helpful book guide you away from bashing your head against the wall. I wish I had this back in High School when I literally did fail algebra. Im in my 40s now and this book has been a lifesaver as a computer science student. Recommend for literally anyone who wants to learn something complex and actually understand what they are doing instead of memorizing and being a parrot.

Un manuale per gli amanti della matematica
Ho trovato questo libro davvero interessante e ben scritto.
