In some or the other sort, in summary or details, we know Gautam Buddha's story. ..his renunciation of the royal luxuries in search of meaning of life. This graphic novel brings that story live visually.This around 150 page book narrates Buddha's life from birth, to Nirvana through enlightenment. Story is told in a very simple yet powerful words. It progresses smoothly across pictures.What makes this book different is marvelous illustrations. Use of same colors and hues and strokes makes the graphic novel very monotonous. sometimes But this illustrator has used different shades of colors for different scenes making it very effective in its rendition. The characters are visually distinct so that you don't need to go back to previous pages to check who this character is. The dialogues as well compliment well to the graphics so you can easily co-relate the characters. These things are very important in graphic novels.Buddha's journey, in his quest for Truth, through extreme ritualism and austerity and then his final realization of middle path is vibrantly depicted, visually and verbally in some 20 pages, which many pages of a word book can not so profoundly convey. Excellent book to get kids back to Reading habit. My son loved illustrations and finished it in 2 bed time night reading and he has never read a book so far in 12 years of his age , being a footballer.

what is this?? its written in the description here,that it contains 160pages but the book has 147pages... please dont give wrong information to readers. better write the correct lage numbers or do not write at all. talking about the books,it is awesumm....i am a big fan of graphic novel and bought so many campfire novels in the earlier days,but nowadays due to its excessive price it is getting difficult to buy all the edition. i mean this book's printed price is 450... tell me who will buy it?? please maintain a fair price campfire or else u will lose readers.

I really liked the way the story is told... I also enjoyed the illustrations!

I was interested in how Budda attained spiritual transcendence and how he could abandon his status as a prince. Reading his history with forceful illustrations helped me satisfy my curiosity. I love the Campfire graphic novel series.

This book is beautifully illustrated on high quality paper with the traditional story of the Buddha, written with articulate and passionate dialogue. It's even great to have lying around to look through the illustrations and admire the artwork.
