GSR206BWNF - Walnut Flat

I cannot believe the quality, craftmanship, and playability of this instrument, right out of the box. I would expect this level of quality from an instrument five times the price. Ibanez has really out done themselves with this.

Bought this bass because I have been a 4 string electric and upright player for 30 years and wanted to try playing a 6 but didnt want to buy a expensive one just yet. I was very pleased and surprised with the build quality and finish. the neck is great and very consistent, straight and has no irregularities. the maple top was not as nicely grained as the one in the picture but its good enough. there is string buzz with current setup, maybe because I play super hard . I am going to replace strings with labella flatwounds and probably raise the action a little. I was really surprised at how nice this bass is for the money. if you just gave it to me and made me have to guess how much it cost, id say $500-800. I am not a huge fan of is the electronics. the pickups are ok and there is a little bit of hum happening. the voicing on the passive tone control might be better, the active knob just mostly cranks up the volume, which is cool if you play rock, but not that great for subtle changes in tone. its fine for the price. over all this is a good instrument and really great for a beginner bassist. its good enough to play on a pro gig too. I may buy a more expensive 6 in the future but for now I am pretty happy with this thing.

I love this bass. It sounds great, the action is MUCH better than I expected. Easy to play, and to really get interesting sounds from. It is very inexpensive for what it is, and I am very pleased with my purchase. I have it tuned to B E A D G C, and I really love the extended range on this. I can play bass parts and/or I can back the lead guitarist and play some convincing rhythm-guitar type power chords when I need to as well... Not bad at all...

The bass came with some fret buzz especially on the lower strings since the bridge is sorta low but other than that its great for its price. Definitely worth it considering the price, it’s a thing of beauty.

I just had to adjust the Action on the Bridge when I first got my 6 string Bass guitar... and it plays so nice!!! Definitely a great instrument to have as a musician!!!

Is really good instrument

I own many guitars and basses and I have to say for the price this bass is perfect. I saw a lot of negative reviews but really wanted a six string. Feels good, plays good, sounds good through my home set up. Very slappable and plenty of room for my fat fingers. I wouldn't say a six string bass is for beginners but if its your cup of tea this is def a good deal. It even came a day early. :]

Very nice bass for the money, I've played from 4-5-6 strings, fretted and fretless, this plays as good as any, including a custom 5-string made locally. Basically, I'm a reed player with a B.S. in music, so like many, I'm a multi-instrumentalist.

pre's a little noisy when both pickups are at noon or above (as is expected from built-in preamp instruments), thicc knob does thicc knobbery things, tone knob range is quite wide. good clarity aside from the minor noise, the preamp provides a fair amount of brightness and warmth but that does mean unless you kill tone and scoop mids you need to play very accurate or your finger noise will be a big deal I'm still working on accuracy because I kept mixing up B for E and losing my transpositioning but that's new instrument issues I'll work out with playtime and creating new memories for my muscles. strings on it are pretty good, which I guess can be expected because it is a niche instrument and not many dollar store brands make strings for these things . setup out of the box was pretty much dead on, intonation is good. string spacing is slightly slimmer than normal bass but still miles apart than guitar. the neck and string spacing lend itself well for chording, which makes it a really good option for octaving on rhythm or lead guitar or baritoning for tonal depth with guitars using big drop tunings, feels kind of like being a kid playing an eight string or something so it's probably really good for guitarists. held tune exceptionally well across a few songs for a new instrument out of the box, sounds are absolutely perfect for anything modern progressive or across the spectrum of metal genres, I specifically got this instrument for progressive, melodic death and power metal. satin finish is MUCH more dark chocolate or a slightly brown toned charcoal than walnut on mine which is a big joy personally since I was iffy on the finish, I'm not a big fan of plain wood boat oar looking electric guitars. I do like the grain to show, but give me something a little more exciting. This is more exciting. Photo attached, taken with flash. The finish has some wood pore imperfections, but it's not really noticeable in normal lighting conditions and gives it a little bit of character. 9/10 if you need an extended range bass to try it out and/or are on a budget this is your guy.

For the price I paid, I was very happy. It feels great and sounds great.
