Is there already storage for the videos on the device, or will I need to get a memory card as well? I know that you can upload to the cloud.

There is no storage on the device. You need to select a class 10 microSD card. This provides all the storage. I would recommend more than 1 so that you can just swap them out when one is full. Also note, the Session does not have a removable battery.GoPro has a section with the compatible memory cards on their website. It can be tough to find. It's easier to Google GoPro Hero5 compatible memory, then to find it on the website.

How long does the battery last?

It depends on the way you have it configured. If you have wifi on and Protune, 4k video recording, etc, the battery will not last as long as it would if connectivity is turned off and you have 1080p selected, etc.You CAN make the battery last for 2 hours if you are trying.

Can it withstand a direct hit from a paintball gun?

I have the perfect answer, it will stand a handful of direct shots, I should know I use it for paintball but July 16th 2022 it got shot and the camera inside shattered, so to answer your question, yes but to a certain extent for me it was 10 or so but once a week I go paint balling. super durable tho so I do recommend
