Inktense didnt impress me at all
I bought quite a lot of watercolors till now, which includes brustro artist tube colors, staedler luna, brustro 48 color set, fabercastell watercolor pencils and lots of camlin water color tubes and pan set. But sadly Derwent inktense didnt impress me at all even though they are the most costliest. The first set I got was very bad. As good as 33 colors out of 72 colors were chalky and light, both on chart paper and watercolor paper . After replacement(Thanks Amazon and Appario Retail store), I got the better set. But still few colors are chalky. Also, colors are not smooth to blend(used them like watercolor, which is the ideal way) like brustro, staedler or fabercastell. Also after wash, color will go away.So claim dont hold good that once ink from inktense dries, they become permanent. Rather brustro watercolor will not go as they become permanent even on fabric(accidentally fell on my dress and it became permanent). brustro, staedler or fabercastell are way cheaper and better than inktense blocks and pencils. Well I had bought inktense pencils as well(12 sets).

Loved it.
Packaging was not good, in the first place I thought I received a used product or an old product so initially I was unhappy after unboxing it but never mind , about the product it was on my wishlist and finally I got it in a lightning deal so I am happy and excited to use it. This product is a bit different than watercolors so for reference I may suggest my favourite Lachri fine art for helpful videos on inktense blocks and pencils , Lisa from Lachri fine art is the one who created the illustration ,(the turtle design/painting) on the Derwent inktense blocks tin which even I received, and I am happy for that too as I am her proud subscriber and supporter.

Vibrant colours, beautiful transparency.
Recommended for any artist who is into watercolors. These sticks have rich pigment, so the effort behind producing a vibrant watercolour painting is reduced to a quarter. Like any other medium, it needs a little practice but once you get used to it, you're hooked for life! Derwent products are priced on the higher side, but is well worth every penny if you see the outcome of your paintings. Go ahead, give it a try!

Amazing product!!
I use derwent inktense blocks on fabric and loved them since they dry permanent all I had to do was heat set it and that's it ... planning on adding more to my collection ...I would like to mention that the packing was very poor and probably due to this 14 of the blocks were broken but I'm very happy with the product and the delivery and of course the price ....overall I'll say go for it ...its definitely worth your money I've posted some photos of the products I made using these blocks

Good
these work amazing. i bought these especially cause they are permanent and vegan. these are only 90 percent permanent i would say. but they layer very well. the previous colour does not merge with the fresh colour which is good. color range is good. they blend and spread nicely on paper and canvas.

This is like a combined sketching/watercoloring tool
I'd buy this again and again. The sticks are of the right dimension (length and width), and has a creamy feel to the stroke. On application of a wet brush, the pigment dissolves to leave rich, vibrant marks. This is like a combined sketching/watercoloring tool, and very convenient for quick sketches.

Soiled Old Stock art material
I was expecting a pristine new box of the esteemed Derwent Inktense Ink sticks. And I receive a cling wrapped soiled old stock box with no lid of these very premium art materials, at a premium price, but it pathetic condition.Very very disappointed....Am returning the same and hoping for a better replacement...

Colours are so intense!
These are amazing! Beautiful to use combined with a paintbrush and a touch of water. I am using them primarily for Zentangle tiles but I have seen amazing videos on YouTube of artists creating stunning pieces of 'traditional' fine art as well. Just be prepared for breakages - they are delicate - but it really doesn't matter as they work the same broken or intact. One very effective technique is to use a wet brush to take the pigment from the block, and then paint onto paper. They are extremely versatile. The picture attached is an example of a Zentangle piece done on A5 using the Inktense Blocks . I applied some random colours onto the paper first. Then tangles over them. Then used the blocks to add more depth and intensity.

100% recommend
This is definitely very unique product. I had purchased 36 blocks a while ago, but I have just laid my hands on them. They blend wonderfully, they are very well pigmented and I just love the water washes effects. Huge drawback: they are not lightfast, so I cannot hang the art pieces on the wall. Still-I do recommend them, it is a great product.Mode details on my IG account

I love these!
It never ceases to amaze me how brilliantly the colours come out with these. The colours seem quite dull when you're drawing the picture, but when you add water to the colour it goes from dull to WOW! I now use these on wood, then brush alcohol over the colour to give a lovely effect that picks out the natural texture of the wood. The price does seem quite expensive, but it's well worth the price you pay!

I have the 36 set of inktense pencils and love them, so invested in the full 72 set of blocks.Totally won over by the vitality and versitility of these blocks of pure inky colour.I have purchased an empty 48 watercolour 1/2 pan box and will cut the blocks to fit the pans so I'll have a travel set.

Three stars because of the state the box and light blocks looked.
Rather disappointed because the box itself was not wrapped in cellophane. There were two tabs of tape keeping the box shut.Even though the blocks were covered with cellophane, the light coloured ones were smeared rather badly.I think that the box I received was a display one hence the state of the product. If this was meant for a present, I would not give it !Just another complaint : the envelope the box arrived in was three quarters open.
