German made cuckoo clock with weight driven for winding and has a pendulum. The cuckoo chimes every quarter and the the winding lasts for the whole day. For re-winding the chain has to be pulled and the weight goes all the way up for its normal cycle.The wood and craftsmanship is to be from Germany but I am not sure. It has decent height of 9.8 inches and is not very big but looks perfect on your wall. It was the last piece available. The price too of 9k is high though could have been slightly less for the size. This clock requires NO batteries. It is purely mechanical movement. The cuckoo bird does not move in & out & the cuckoo sound is like a old vintage steam engine whistle.Also to adjust the time one needs to slide the pendulum gong up for fast and down for slow. The clock does not come adjusted out of the box.For those expecting more please note all German Cuckoo clocks are very very expensive as these are hand crafted. If you want original workmanship you have to pay more out of your pocket.I am giving it 4 starts as the cuckoo sound is not like cuckoo at all.Tks for Amazon for the excellent delivery & service rendered.

Amazingly cute little clock, very well built and the bird is also very subtle and pleasant. The fact that this is totally mechanical even the bird call is produced by the mechanical bellows... Makes this very special!!!
