...and boy was I wrong.We LOVED that blanket. And I was pretty much at the point of tears recently when I saw that it was FINALLY starting to fray around the edges and get a little thin after who knows how many times through the washing machine.So I went digging for a replacement, but figured they didn't make them anymore, so I was buying all these OTHER random blankets and trying them... and was DEEPLY disappointed. I mean, heck, most of the ones I bought showed up in a package that was maybe the size of two college textbooks. How could any blanket be anything close to decent if there was no BULK to the thing?I cried in a corner about it for a while, and my wife came to me, haloed in a heavenly light, and said, "Hey, moron. Have you considered looking at the TAG on the blanket we have now to see if they still make them? Hm?"And it occurred to me... that no... I had NOT. So we checked. "DownTown?! PFFT. Who has ever heard of them? There's no way they're still making these... and even if they do, I bet you they will suck. Because it seems like ALL bedding quality has gone WAY down hill these days."But we found them! And they were still stupidly expensive! So... I dunno... maybe?!And we bought it.And it showed up. It was this giant, heavy package that looked like it was closer to a full BACKPACK full of textbooks. So... already I'm pretty excited. I open it up and it's thick and glorious, just like I remember ours was when we bought it 20 years prior. Put it on the bed, went to sleep with the windows open and the thermometer reading 45 degrees, and honestly I don't think I've slept this well in years.I know it all sounds silly, but seriously... this thing is just SO great. In a world of these low-quality bedding materials, it is SO great to know that someone out there is still making a high quality item. And, yeah, it's pricey, but if I have to buy one of these every 20 years, I think maybe I won't worry too much. And this is totally a blanket to use year round. It's oddly not so hot that you can have it on you in the warmer months, and yet one single blanket kept me warm and cozy even with my windows open on a 45 degree night.SO happy. Planning to buy some extras for my kids at Christmas.

I normally do not leave reviews but this time I thought I should. After receiving the blanket I followed the care instructions and washed it on cold and dried on no heat air. And the blanket came out ruined! The cashmere pilled and the blanket felt rough and bumpy. I have requested a return. Will update.

Much smaller than King size. Probably should return it because it barely drapes over sides of the mattress (which is not a super thick mattress, just standard thickness) and we haven't washed it yet! The package says it will shrink (have they not heard of pre-shrinking?), so I'm guessing it will be the size of a full or twin after washing. Really disappointed the company is so cheap with the sizing, as the blanket is wonderfully soft and thick and so much nicer than synthetic fibers. If it weren't so puny, I'd love it. As is, it's probably going back. :(

Misleading advertising. Cashmere comes from goats, camels and rabbits. The blanket is not as soft as advertised. The binding on the outer edges is POORLY SEWN--it's rolled and twisted and the miters on the corners are absolutely amateurish. The binding is not preshrunk before being sewn onto the blanket. It shrunk in the wash (cold water) and the drying (low heat). Needless to say the edges of the blanket are puckered. I have a 20 year old blanket made by Downtown Company and it is is in better shape than the one I just purchased and washed. Customer Service is atrocious. I ordered an ivory and a white of the 100% cotton in queen size. I was sent an ecru, queen in 100% cotton and a white queen in 50% cotton & 50% acrylic. The reps. would not admit they made a mistake. It took 3 weeks and Amazon arbitration before things were rectified.

The website description is saying they have a white color. That's what I order and I like the way describe on website. Well blanket was ok, $175 minus 10% off for good quality is worth it. My bedroom is white included sheets so when I received and put on my bed its not white is off white, I was not happy a all because I was expecting white. The edges was beautifully finish and blanket looks ok, but was not white. So, I returned and I get my refund less over $25. So, I get shock because was not my fold if they describe white color as a off white and charge me over $25 for their mistake that's very unprofessional. So, be careful if you looking for white color and be aware for return charge what is not small.

I have posted a negative review couple of weeks ago and noticed its gone. I sure hope Amazon did not take it down as I was expressing my opinion of this product. I was offered a gift card to take my review down which I did not except.I wonder why there are mostly positive reviews here and think somehow the company is getting rid of the negative ones.I did not find it to be cashmere soft, and do not feel its a good word to describe this blanket. Its adequate, not bad, not great however, nothing special. If I had a chance to look at it and touch it in the store, would never have paid $160 (total with tax) for it.Its also important to note that its really thick and not a good summer blanket. The odor out of the box is horrible!We need some honesty on here, so please do not take this down.I wish there were some more honest reviews on here so I WOULD NOT BE STUCK WITH THIS BLANKET!THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

This blanket is as soft as those polyester "mink" feel blankets but SO much better, for one thing it breathes unlike polyester and keeps you from overheating at night and sweating. It's a little expensive for a King blanket, but it's worth every penny. Washed it and dried it right after I got it yesterday and had the most amazing nights sleep under it. We had a cool 61 degree night here in the Southern, CA desert and with the windows open this blanket was heaven.
