It was good but
Overall, this was a very good book. However, the last part of the book was not as good as the beginning.Galen met Rowan when Galen was starting her stint as Chief Resident for Boston City Hospital. Rowan was the epitome of thesweet Southern girl from Texas straight and with a long distance needy boyfriend and the met at the elevator before grand tours. They connected in such a visceral sort of way because Galen was a player and Rowan was a first year resident with Rowan as her boss. One of the reviews stated that this was just up there with Fated Love. Let’s not forget Turn Back Time. I can see this book being in company with these other books.Where it lost a Star was at the tailed end. Rowan and Galen we’re happy and in love. The boyfriend showed up and Rowan decided to rescue Brian at the cost of what it did to Galen. At that point until she came to her senses at the end of the book I perceived as a milk toast selfish foolish girl that wanted to be “normal” for the sake mor being middle of the road instead of loving Galen. I’m glad they tightened it up at the end although it felt a bit rushed for that last chapter. Overall, well done!

If you like medical romances
I don't know what it is about dr romances, but I'm really a sucker for them. My favorites being "Ask, Tell" and "Fated Love." This one kept my interest, but the writing wasn't quite as good as the writers of the books above. For sure, the information regarding the medical procedures was very technical sounding and clearly the writer was familiar with those processes, but it was the character development and plot that fell a little short. I just didn't think it would be so easy for Galen to drop into such a close relationship so fast especially with her intern. All of the crisis' in the book seemed to be resolved without much drama that I didn't really think was realistic given the importance of the issues between Galen vs her father/boss and Rowan vs Brian. So if you like medical romances, you'll want to read this, but don't expect it to be one of the best.

3.5 stars
I really enjoyed it until I got 70% into the book. After that I really did not like Rowan and felt like Galen should have run and not look back. The beginning was so promising and reminded me of Radcliffe's Turn back time. However it then became cliche when the ex showed up and I had to push through the last 30%.

Wow! What a wonderful story!
Truth be told....I started reading and listening to this book and didn’t really like it. I actually asked for a refund on the kindle book but the audible book was still in my phone. So, while driving, I selected it and listened for a chapter and couldn’t stop. What a wonderful book and narration!

Nothing new here....same old story
I really enjoyed the first half of the book when Galen and Rowan were falling in lust...the second half, where spineless Rowan retreats to her boyfriend, was painful to finish. The book felt like a lesser version of many other books who have told this rehashed story more compellingly.

A Really Good Story
Emily Smith did an outstanding job in the creation of this story. The characters were unique and captivating, while the medical scenes were very detailed.

Well written
I found this book easy to read because it was well written. However, it was just a story of lust and love with very little plot.Nothing dramatic happened. In this respect it was a disappointment.

Ok but not as good as Same Time Next Week
I loved Same Time Next Week and I was really excited for this book but for me it just fell a bit short. I thought is started strong and the dialogue and interaction between main characters was good. But then I felt it didn’t really progress and for me it was a bit unbelievable how and how soon they got together. There needed to be more interaction, moments etc and I didn’t really get taken on an emotional roller coaster like really well written stories do. So it was an ok read but I still prefer Same Time Next Week

A good read.
Plot is well written. Enough dose of humor and romance. The ending is abrupt. I feel that Rowan should'nt have been taken off the hook lightly. Otherwise, it is a good book to read.
