Small and powerful 5 channel amp
Pleasantly surprised with this amp. This amp replaces my old 4 channel amp and mono sub amp. It is running my 6x9 front door speakers and 6.5 rear door speakers along with a 10” pioneer subwoofer. This amp is a bargain for what it’s capable of doing. The sound is nice and the build quality looks great. I would buy this amp again.

Small but packs a punch
OK. Normally I will not write a review, even if the product is horrible. When I first opened the package, I checked several labels to make sure this is what I ordered. (It was much smaller than expected). I installed the amp hoping it could at least push the four 6.5 speakers that I installed in the doors of my rogue. It sounded horrible, but I was jumping to conclusion because of the size of the amp. I didn't even adjust the gain or high pass setting. After a few adjustments the mid/hi range speakers were very good.. the amp felt hot to the touch though. I figured that i would have to buy another amp for the 10 inch sub. I decided to connect the sub just for reference.. This small amp that carries 8 gauge power/ground and 14 gauge output speaker wire is very impressive. I have no need for another amp. (it did not over heat) Note I'm not in competition phase. I just wanted an inexpensive and simple 5 channel system, to improve the factory system this amp pushes four 6.5 midrange speakers and one 10 inch sealed box sub very well

Five Channel Budget King!
The Skar SK-M9005 is one of the smallest five channel amps you'll find. Not only is the size small, but the price is as well, making this a compelling choice for those looking for a single system amp who only have limited space. This amp is rated to deliver: 55x4 plus 300x1 at 4 ohms or 85x4 plus 450x1 at 2 ohms or 170x2 (4 ohms bridged) plus 450x1 at 2 ohms I tested this amp on my SMD Amp Dyno and confirmed these ratings are accurate. I loaded ALL channels of the amp during my tests and used a 40Hz tone, which gave a worst case scenario. In most cases people will enable high pass filter on the front/rear channels and not pass low frequencies to all speakers. I tested the amp this way to see if it could still deliver rated power with all channels loaded down and it did! There are a few drawbacks I'll note. First, the amp needs inputs on all channels and doesn't offer a way to use only 2 or 4 inputs. This could be a problem in many systems. Also, the speaker harness is via plug and small gauge speaker wire. You'll need to be prepared to solder, butt connect, or use terminal blocks to manage the speaker connections. Finally, the bass knob (included) uses the 3.5mm connector, which can easily detach from the amp or remote. I prefer the RJ11/RJ45 style which fit with that extra click. I have not done long-term testing with the amp, so I cannot comment on the reliability. The amp does use an old style driver board which is prone to failure due to excessive heat. Overall this is a great all-in-one amp for those who need some extra power for their system, but don't want to invest a large amount. Just make sure you understand the limitations. Overall recommended.

I gotta admit this amp is a lot of bang for the buck.
As someone who has been into car audio for several decades I was very skeptical that this amp would perform for this low of a price. I read reviews and watched YouTube vids of amp dynos and this amp is legit. It puts out more power and sound than my alpine amp I replaced with it and for a fraction of the cost. It’s definitely worth the money and it performs very well. I haven’t had any problems with it so far and it hasn’t shut down from heat or anything either. I’m pretty impressed and I think you will be too. I’m definitely recommending it and if you’re on the fence about it, go for it.

Filter the reviews by amp model
If you’re looking at the SK-M9005D, filter the reviews for five channel amp which sucks. Purchased the 5 channel amp based on high review rating but was fooled. If you filter for only the sk-m9005d, you will see most are experiencing the same thing that is happening to mine. It overheats and shuts off for a few seconds then back on. It repeats this over and over. When it was first installed it seemed to work fine but after two weeks it started and keeps getting worse. Unfortunately I’m past the return window or it would be going back. I usually don’t get fooled by Amazon, but in this case, I feel that I was. This model amp should have its own listing so consumers could see it for what it is, a piece of junk. Stay sway. I wish I would have purchased the Stinger Amp which has similar specs and much better reviews.

Strong amp for a good price.
Didn't want to deal with power distribution to multiple amps, and didnt want to run 0/1 guage for higher wattage amps that don't put out the power they say. Ha e this amp running 6x9 Alpine R components, 6.5 Alpine R, and a 10in solo L5 on 4 guage wiring. This thing pushes the entire system HARD! Sounds amazing! If youre a minimalist on a budget and looking for a single amp that will run an entire system, I dont think you'll find any better than this. ***NOTE*** One thing I DONT like..... all 5 channel connections are done through a single plastic 12 pin connector into the amp. I'm sure it's fine as the wire is heavy enough, but it means you will have to make wiring connections(butt connectors or solder). I don't plan on changing anything any time soon, so I'm fine with it I guess.

Good amp, but needed one more channel
This was as described, and would no doubt work OK but I found after receiving it I really needed 6 channel s for my OEM sound setup to replace the factory amp. Return was handled properly.

Compact, and powerful.
Edit: I bought this in January 2021 and it is now October 2022. Amp has stopped working. Power and inputs has all been verified with oscilloscope, all the speakers are still good. Amp just keeps power cycling. It was a great amp that gave me no problems. It just would not turn on one day, no other signs of issues before that point. If these were still in stock, I would probably buy another one, just because this amp matched my power needs exactly. I have a small car, so space was a was a major concern when I picked out my amplifier and speaker package. I chose this amp because it had the power I needed in a small size. After an hour or so at full volume it does get slightly warm, but as long as you have good power going to it, it should not get hot. I ran 4gauge all the way back, then dropped it down to 8 gauge for the last 14". 4gauge wire is not necessary, but it doesn't hurt anything either. I am using this to push 4x Hifonics ZS65C Zeus 6.5" 4ohm component speakers and a single 2ohm Kicker 10" CompRT (one powered subwoofer, one passive subwoofer in a compact box) Pros: - Very powerful for the size - Great sound with no distortion - Stays cool - So small it will fit almost anywhere - Price Cons: None of these are a deal breaker, I am putting these here for people so they know what to expect. - The remote bass control knob uses a headphone style jack instead of the usual RJ-45. I'm sure they did this due to available space. - All of the speaker outputs are on a small plug instead of screw terminals. This makes for a slightly more difficult time trying to make everything look decent on install. Again, they probably did this due to the small size of the amp. - The connection for the remote turn on wire is way bigger than it needs to be. It can fit around a 10 gauge wire. 14 gauge wire just looks odd in the connection. None of the cons would stop me from purchasing this amp again. I would highly recommend this amp to anyone looking to power their whole system.

Good amp, needs better cooling
Good value, lots of power. make sure you mount this amp with a gap as the fan is located on the bottom. It worked a lot better for me once I gave it more room to breathe. It gets hot and will overheat if you do not do this

Powering 2 10”s and 4 4x6”s well
Have 0 issues so far, no overheating problems and powering everything very clearly

Overheats even when not in use. Boo.
Like most people have said about the 9005D, it gets really hot very quickly and shuts down endlessly. I tested this at every gain setting, and it even gets wicked hot without playing any music. It overheats at idle... pretty junky. I replaced mine with a Sundown and it's not even close. The Sundown runs cool, hits harder, deeper, and sounds much, much cleaner and detailed.

For how small this is, it vastly outperforms at its price point
definitely outputs the power advertised, and sounds extremely clean. Only thing I don't like is the small subwoofer wires on the output harness. I feel it's too small for the rated output

Frustrating Experience - SKAR Audio Amp and Warranty Issues
I purchased the SKAR Audio SK-M9005D amplifier six months ago with high hopes for its performance, but unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory. The amplifier, which I had expected to be a reliable investment, unexpectedly failed after only six months of use. Initially, I was impressed with its features and seemingly adequate performance, but the premature failure has left me extremely disappointed. What's even more frustrating and disappointing is SKAR Audio's refusal to honor the manufacturer warranty for products purchased through Amazon. Upon discovering the issue, I promptly contacted SKAR Audio customer support in hopes of finding a resolution. To my dismay, I was informed that the warranty is not valid for products purchased through Amazon, leaving me with a malfunctioning amplifier and no recourse for a remedy. Please note that Amazon is also refusing any warranty, replacement, or refund for the broken amp. This lack of warranty coverage for Amazon purchases is a major oversight and has significantly impacted my perception of SKAR Audio's commitment to customer satisfaction. A company's responsibility should extend to all customers, regardless of the purchase platform. While I initially had high hopes for SKAR Audio, this experience has left me hesitant to consider future purchases from this brand. In fact, I consider the quality of their products inferior and will never be supporting this brand again. I hope SKAR Audio reevaluates its warranty policies to ensure that all customers receive the support they deserve, regardless of where the product was purchased. Hopefully no one else has to experience the utter disappointment and frustration Skar Audio has caused me.
