Easy direct replacement for older Warn 8274 winches
These were a direct replacement for the four solenoids in my 1970’s Warm 8274, Easy to install because all wiring and jumpers are the same as original. I upgraded to 2 AWG wire from the solenoids to the motor. I had ordered the new style solenoids from Warn but they are a different shape and require a new backup plate and different copper jumper links. It’s a lot of work and money to retrofit to the new design. These value priced Chinese solenoids worked perfectly (no grounding problems and wired exactly like the original design). Time will tell if they will work in the long run but solenoids are not complicated electronics. My old ones lasted over forty years and only an electrical fire from engine ruined them. I think these will work fine and are so easy to install.

Good replacement for Warn 8274
I rebuilt my early Warn 8274 winch using these solenoids. These were a direct replacement for the older corroded solenoids I removed. I wired these identically as the solenoids that were removed and everything bench tested as expected. An easy and simple replacement that keeps my Warn winch in service.

Overheated and burned up - electronically
When it worked, it worked well. As soon as it was placed under a heavy load, the solenoid got extremely hot (too hot to touch) and simply failed. Assume it burned up and shorted out internally due to the extreme heat build up internally. More interestingly, the temperature was only @ 60 degrees F out where is was being operated. Would have been a bit easier to understand if it would have been a 100+ degree day. My "return window" has closed about 3 weeks ago - my luck, so now the first time I actually got to use it, it failed.

Works
Easy install and worked great. Mounting holes were different on the factor warm but it fits

cutting may be required for your Warn winch repair
These seem well made but were not a direct replacement for my XD9000i winch; modification was required. These solenoids have a stainless metal mounting tab (shown on left and right sides of the picture) that is too wide for my winch which uses an 8mm channel where the solenoids slide into place. The replacement solenoids' mounting tab was too wide for the channel and they must install perpendicularly for the copper buss bars to fit. The only choice was to trim the mounting tabs. This was not a big issue for me; I used a fine-point sharpie as well as a dremmel cutoff wheel and a 4" grinder after making a paperboard pattern from the broken warn solenoids. If your winch solenoids install in a similar way, you must be capable of minor fabrication or else shop for another solenoid of the correct size. Solenoids came with replacement nuts and lock washers for all terminals but no mounting hardware (but like I said, my winch doesn't require mounting hardware but is picky about the size of that metal baseplate).

Great OEM relay
Just like the original. They even had the Warn logo printed on them. Last year I purchased a set of knockoff relays and two of them already failed. This time I decided to go with OEM relays. So far they are great. I expect they will last much longer than the knockoffs. If any of them fail prematurely, I’ll update this review.

It's warn
This solenoid worked perfectly on my 22 JLURXR with Warn winch I installed so I could hook up my #4 aux switch to power it on and not have it powered on all the time directly connected to the battery.

The mount does not ground this relay!!!
These solenoids work great but did give me some heartburn. I only needed to replace one and it didn't work when wired like the original. In fact, NONE of them worked when wired as the original. I discovered that the switch body/metal mount does not work as a ground like every other solenoid I've ever installed on anything. There are two small poles on the switch and one is the "hot" pole to activate the solenoid- the other actually has to be wired to ground for the switch to work. Many Ford solenoids have that 2nd small pole and it is used to activate a light that indicates "starter engaged". That pole is never used in most solenoid applications. After discovering that none of these 4 solenoids worked when grounded to the mount, I almost returned them. I decided to try one with the second pole to ground and it worked. There's no info sheet or wiring diagram included- so it's all seat of the pants troubleshooting. Once I figured that out they work great.

This doesn’t come with the nuts so you’ll have to source them somewhere else.
