Our Solar System: Revised Edition

Purchased for my nephew’s birthday. He is nine and very interested in the solar system

This was the first book that my son brought home from the school library in first grade. After that he read all of the books by Seymour Simon about the planets, volcanoes, glaciers, etc. In third grade my son wrote a letter to Seymour Simon to tell him that he was his favorite author -- and he got a letter back! The photos are engaging, the writing is clear, and the price is very reasonable. Need I say more?

My son loves this book and read it in two days even though it was part of his Mater Ambilis curriculum to read over a week.

Great illustrations and information geared for kids around 6 to 8. Very readable. I like this author quite a lot.!

Mr. Simon has written a nice nonfiction book about our solar system. He explains a lot of things, and taught me some new things, like why Pluto is considered a dwarf planet (this is part of the "updated" version of this book). I think that he explains things in a simple way that kids can understand. The pictures in the book are cool. I like that there is a glossary in the back. I wish some of the illustrations had captions on them. I think it is a great choice for an introduction to the solar system for kids. *NOTE* I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
