Best earplugs on the market
These are the best earplugs on the market, they reduce the most noise and have the best fitment for my larger ear canals. I've tried 3M, Walker's, and the reusable silicone ones and these are hands down the best. On a motorcycle they block almost all wind noise and I have also used them for shooting with great success.

Living and operating in chaos? No B.S.
These things are a BLESSING!!! I was using solid baffled style ear plugs, they would chafe my ear, and cause serious irritation; AVOID the solid ones they'll jack your ear up and don't work that well. These things however are epic, I operate and must concentrate in areas and situations where pure chaos is going down constantly. We're talking machines that will leave your head rattling at the end of the day, areas with really loud sound systems, and other things I would call hazardous environments; I won't digress though, sound is the focus point here in this review. You twist these tightly, and stick them as far as you can into your ear, hold them in place by pushing, and they will slowly expand inside your ear, it creates a custom fit. They are also very soft compared to the garbage I was issued; the solid baffled reusable style, and I can sleep in these. They will not totally silence hard core machines, but it's done enough so that you can be 10 feet away and it sounds like a 3 on a loudness scale of 1-10. They're really effective, if you don't use earplugs regularly, and your body is not adjusted to abuse, anything you stick in your ear will cause a reaction over time, these however are among the best options I've found, that said fight through the pain if you're new to using such equipment, and after a month your ears won't be bothered. Be sure to keep them clean, they will discolor slightly if you use them half the day, then also sleep with them, once a day with antibacterial soap does it for me. You also get a TON of them, it sort of shocked me, got tons of reloads for these suckers if for whatever reason failure occurs. Also a thing to note, remove them slowly, they create a vacuum in your ear canal due to the custom fit when they expand, if you pull them out fast you could hurt your ears. If you want to sleep well in hazardous environments, or operate and need to think while under distress of constant loud sounds, these are what you want, they don't look like much, but they preform and hit where you want it too. Best ones I've used so far.

Simply the BEST!
Because I am a light sleeper, I have been sleeping with earplugs every night for over 20 years. Thus, I have tried many different earplugs, and these are simply the best: The highest NRR rating (meaning the most effective), the most comfortable, and durable. Many other earplugs are firm and hurt my ear canal after a short period of time. I can sleep in these for 7-8 hours without any discomfort. I live on a busy street, and traffic noises are blocked out. They won't block out my father's snoring in the same room, though, so I stay in a separate hotel room on the rare occasion we travel together.

And these work great even though I can still hear them slamming and ...
So crazy but these actually does work. You DO have to twist these to make a little cone before inserting them into your ear. But once they are in your ear it reduces the sound by at least half. These will not cancel all noises out completely but it will make them less alarming when you have them in.I ordered these so that I did not have to hear my OVERLY loudly aggressive neighbors (I NEED TO MOVE LOL). And these work great even though I can still hear them slamming and banging but just not as loudly/alarming.I wish there was a way to have earplugs like this that you do not have to keep adjusting in your ears, as you do need to readjust these about every 20-30 minutes.I know they say its reusable but I wouldn't reuse them too many times. I know all good things do come to an end (IE: quietness) but I will continue to use these as long as I live in this hell hold LOL.

Gold standard for disposable foam ear-plugs
Well made, consistent, and feel/sound true to their dB attenuation rating.I use these for motorcycle riding, heavy machine work, shop and tool work, loud concerts- usually more when I'm working them and when I don't care as much about sound quality and more about ear safety.Always delivers.Make sure you know how to put them in correctly! You need to roll/squish them and pull down your ear lobe as you insert to help them get all the way into the canal. They need to form a full "seal". Youtube it if you are curious.

Too big, hurt my ears
I'm sad to give only 1 star to a Howard Leight product, but I couldn't use these at all.I tried them only once, they are very dense and wide in diameter, so they put quite a bit of pressure on my ear canal. I had experiences with sleeping with uncomfortable earpulgs before and I only had a few hours of sleep left, so I didn't pay much attention to the uncomfortable sensations that started right away and figured I would just wake up with hurting ears, but still get my sleep. Boy, was I wrong. The next 1.5 hours was torture, I would wake up every 10 minutes or so of pain and drift back to sleep, until I finally got up and replaced them with Max Lite. This was the worst experience sleeping with earplugs I have ever had.I should note that for me it's usually easier to sleep with painful earplugs than to wear them while awake, so if I couldn't even sleep, they would be no good for anything else for me.Another reason they would be suboptimal to use for sleeping is the shape of their outer part. It has "sharp" edges and the foam is quite dense, so they would scratch the surface of the pillow and produce a loud and unpleasant "noise" in your ear. I'm not sure if it would be a real issue while actually sleeping and turning your head, but it was for sure an issue when I was trying to fall asleep.Instead of these, I would highly recommend Howard Leight MAX Lite Foam Ear Plugs (e.g. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036231TG). They are very soft, easy on the ears (while still wide enough to not fall out), block sounds very well and are excellent for sleeping.
