I used this tent when I was in the military and now use it for camping. Overall it's a good lightweight tent, ideal for hot, buggy climates. My only gripe is with the additional rainfly which you can purchase separately, as it isn't great at stopping rain from leaking through. Also, the tent is quite small. I am 5'10 and can just barely fit in, so larger users may find it difficult to sleep in.

i have two of these, one is a back up. this is what i take backpacking 3 seasons sierra nevada. i also carry a tarp which is for rain, usually only use the tarp if i suspect rain coming. use a piece of Tyvek for my groundcloth. the fiberglass rods can break if you don't fold it up correctly - but the tent still works even with the rods partly broken. one of my tents came with a rod repair kit. so far so good. been using the same catoma pop up tent for over 3 years now. to fold it correctly, watch videos on utube over and over. also you may find folding instructions inside the stuff sack. see you on the trail.
