I was so excited to receive the device, how disappointed was I to find out that it wasn't stitching. I've tired different things to get it to work, but the needle wasn't being held by the screw, as the needle top was too thick. I moved on and bought an actual sewing machine that's working. If you'e thinking of getting one, just do yourself a favour and get a proper machine (Hobbycraft has a basic one for £15, next one is £30).

Bought as a Joke Birthday present.Seriously this product is utterly useless.Its based on a fundamentally flawed concept of single thread stitching.i.e. the thread is fed via a needle through the fabric then pulled out again through the same hole.The outcome - no stitch just a loop ( if you are lucky) attached to nothing.Its a shame the original project was never finished ( the second bobbin / thread )If you want a sewing machine honestly this is not it. Invest in a needle thread / or proper sewing machineIf you want a really useless present to annoy some one - bingo this is it.

Good little gadget. Not really sure I've mastered it yet. Hemmed a pair of trousers. Had to do it twice as I thought I had knotted it but it unravelled.Re-threading was ok but fiddly. Definitely practice before you use on clothes!!Overall happy with it and hopefully I will get better the more I try.

What the product description and reviews fail to state is, this doesn't stitch like a normal sewing machine which has a second bobbin of thread underneath looping around the thread from above and holding the stitches secure, instead this thing loops the top thread around somehow creating the stitches, this means when you tug the cotton, all your stitches will pull out of the fabric leaving you with a load of holes and a cotton thread, in the small print of the instructions it tells you to thread the end through the fabric using the needle threader and tie a knot. if you can do that without unravelling everything then congratulations, this is the machine for you. but for me, it'd be quicker just to hand stitch everything .

Got this for my wife because she’s always moaning about having to get the big sewing machine out for small items. She is very pleased with this. She said it’s so handy to have for those little sewing items she need to do. She said it works well and it is easy to thread. Happy wife = happy husband!

Absolutely useless. Instructions are hard to understand as it appears they have been translated from English very badly. Once I had read the instructions many times it does not seem to work particularly well. My tip would be learn to sew by hand it will be quicker!
